John Prendergast
Director

John's experience in the healthcare industry is complemented by 3 years in the NHS as Director of Service Development. His MBA and positions in senior management gave him a wealth of commercial and business skills and when the opportunity arose in 2007 he left his employer with Phil to set up Bluebird Care in Newbury.  More recently John has gained the level 4 diploma in Health & Social Care.

John and Phil are both actively involved in the running of the business and share responsibility for setting the strategic direction and values of the company.  With the success of the business in Newbury, John and Phil set up a second office in Hook in April 2012 to extend their coverage across West Berkshire, Basingstoke and Deane and Hart.

Phil Miles
Director

With a background in the healthcare industry, Phil's experience is in recruiting and managing large teams of people. Phil left a senior management role in a local pharmaceutical contract sales organisation in March 2007 and with John set up Bluebird Care in Newbury in September that year.

John and Phil are both actively involved in the running of the business and share responsibility for setting the strategic direction and values of the company.  With the success of the business in Newbury, John and Phil set up a second office in Hook in April 2012 to extend their coverage across West Berkshire, Basingstoke and Deane and Hart.

Sara Pyke
Customer Support Manager

Sara has a wealth of experience from the care industry, laterly with clients with challenging behaviours.  Sara joined Bluebird Care as a care assistant in December 2013 and after 20 months secured promotion to Supervisor in October 2015.  Sara meets new customers, sets up new care plans and works with our customers and their families to review existing packages of care to ensure they are up to date and meet their needs. 

Kim Teagle
Operations Manager

Kim joined Bluebird Care as a care assistant in September 2012 and after 3 years delivering the very best quality of care in Basingstoke & Deane and Hart was successful in her application to start in a brand new role for the company as Recruitment Manager.  More recenlty Kim's role has also developed in to working with the company's senior management team to focus on retaining staff through improved pay, benefits, training and support.  Kim is responsible for all staff recruitment and marketing along with events across both the West Berkshire and North Hampshire offices. Give her a call on 07792 784354 today to see if Bluebird Care is the company for you.

Charlotte Scott
Finance Manager

Charlotte has developed her career at Bluebird Care over a number of years; joining the company in 2010 as a care assistant.  After only a few months Charlotte moved in to the office as coordianator and did this role for 2 and half years before moving into the Finance Manager position where she studied her for AAT qualifications. 

Kelly Westwood
Care Manager

Kelly has worked in the Care industry for over 20 years, working in a variety of different roles. In Kelly's early years working in care she attended University to study Health & Social this is where her passion for providing person centred care began. Kelly's more recent Roles have been in Leadership Positions, a Service Manager with Age UK Surrey running the Help at Home Service covering Waverley and Mole Valley areas. This was a service that was bespoke to the customer, person centred approach enabling them to live as independently as possible. Kelly's career then progressed to being a Registered Supported Living Service Manager, supporting customers with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health. Working along side Social Workers,  Care Managers and Commissioners to provide a bespoke service.

 

Kieran Rogan
Interim Care Manager

Kieran has been working in the care industry since 2013 where she started with Blurebird Care as a care assistant. Kieran gained her Health & Social Care qualifications level 2 & 3  along with a Dementia Awareness  Level 3 and End of Life Level 2 when she was then promoted to Care Champion and Mentor supporting new care assistants in to their role. Kieran then went on to complete her level 5 in Health & Social Care . In 2020 Kieran left Bluebird to gain more experience as a Care Co-ordinator after 15 months Kieran returned to Bluebird Care and successfully became our Care assistant supervisor and is now our Interim Care Manager 

Kirsty Sawyer
Customer Support Professional

Kirsty has worked in care for the last 8 years with experience of nursing and residential care  and also dementia care. Kirsty has worked as a care team leader and also as a team leader of an activities team. Providing outstanding care to give customers independence as much as possible is at the heart of Kirsty's care for others.

Jo Ingram
Live-In Manager

Jo has worked in the care industry for over 15 years .Throughout the years Jo has worked in a variety of roles starting her career as a care assistant in a care home and then moving into home care. Jo originally joined us as  the Coordination Manager of both the North Hampshire & West Berkshire areas. Her skills and experience are second to none and will played a significant part in the company being able to deliver the highest quality care. Jo recently applied for the live-manager role and was successful in being appointed. 

Tamsin Hudson
Dementia Care Adviser

Tamsin’s career moved into Dementia Healthcare in 2017 after gaining an NVQ3 in Dementia Care studies during the pandemic lockdowns, in her previous role as a Dementia Adviser in Oxfordshire.  Prior to this, she had worked for many years as a CIPD qualified Human Resources Generalist, working in Education/Care settings. Tamsin has always been a people-focussed person so the move into person-centred Dementia Care has been a natural progression as well as somewhat of a passion. Tamsin is delighted to be able to continue using her specialist experience, skills and dementia knowledge, with our customers affected by dementia.  She sees supporting and advising their family members as an extremely important side of her role in this new position with Bluebird Care in West Berkshire and North Hampshire.

 

Zara Stephens
Compliance Support Professional

Zara has been working in the care indusry for the past 5 years starting her career with Bluebird Care in 2018 and gained valuable experience in domiciliary care. Zara led our JET service working alongside the NHS. Zara's passion is dementia and left Bluebird Care to gain more experience in a specialised dementia residential/nursing home. Zara returned to Bluebird Care in 2022 and joined the team as our Interim customer Supervisor. 

Ellis Miles
Coordinator

Ellis recently joined Bluebird Care in September 2023 as our new Care Coordinator with a wide range of experience working in the healthcare industry. Ellis left her role as a care assistant in a psychiatric hospital to return to the world of coordination which she has previously done in another role. 

Lucy Shrimpton
Social Media Assistant

Lucy had been working in retail, part-time, for 2 years throughout college and after achieving 3 A`s in her A-Levels, it was time to look for a job that she really wanted to gain experience in. Lucy Joined Bluebird Care in January 2022 as a Social Media Assistant and has already gained so many qualifications from marketing and analytics to email marketing and is currently working her way through a Digital Level 2 qualifiation. Lucy is part of our shared services team and looks after all our social media platforms across North Hampshire & West Berkshire. 

 

 

 

 

Arun Newmark
Finance Assistant

Arun recently joined us at Bluebird Care as a finance assistant in November 2023. He was previously working in sales and looking forward to continuing his journey with Bluebird Care in the finance department. He will soon be starting his AAT with us, allowing him to develop his skillset even further.
