What is it like to work for Bluebird Care Northallerton, Thirsk and Catterick?

“The two most important things that spring to mind is that as an individual I feel valued by the company, and I genuinely feel I am making a valuable contribution for people in the later years of their life.”

Would you recommend working at Bluebird Care Northallerton, Thirsk and Catterick?

“Yes, definitely.  I just think there is a genuine team feeling throughout the company and you are respected as individuals. The high standards and professionalism isn’t just words you see on a paper, the care we give is dignified.”

Did you have any experience in care before joining Bluebird Care Northallerton, Thirsk and Catterick?

“Originally no, I spent 26 years working as a HR manager. I wanted to support people who were coming to the end of their lives as I was influenced by my family member and next door neighbour with Dementia who both sadly passed away at their homes. I decided to join a care home where I stayed for 3 years but that drive for wanting to care for people at home never went away.”

Do you feel on your own as a Bluebird care assistant?

“Before starting this role, I was worried I would feel on my own or that I would have no support. I can honestly say that I do not feel alone. Whenever I ring the office, I know I am not a nuisance and all the other care assistants are so supportive. There is just a great network at Bluebird Care”

What do you love the most about working in care?

I know I am making a genuine contribution to somebody in the later years of their life. I applied for Bluebird Care as it has got a good reputation, and family friends had received home care by Bluebird Care. I don’t think I would naturally have gone to any other company”

“I can honestly say I have never worked in a job before where I can genuinely say everyone I work with are lovely. This job ticks all the boxes”

Thank you, Jill, for all that you do for our customers. Your kindness and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated.
