Quality Training for our Care Assistants

At Bluebird Care Lewes, Brighton & Hove we provide our Care Assistants with quality and rigorous training from day one.

Each of our carers is carefully selected through interview; reference checks are thorough and validated, DBS checks (police checks) are made and only then training to prepare for the role commences.

Initial training is a minimum of 3 days, ‘classroom based’ practical and theory and then there is additional on-line learning. All training is supported through our Training Officer and a Registered General Nurse (RGN) .

Our new recruits will then start their career journey with shadowing an experienced carer, and their work and progress will be monitored through supervisions and random spot checks each week until the carers completes their probation period with us. This whole process is ongoing throughout the year and each carer has a dedicated Supervisor qualified in care to support them. Together with the Care Manager, the Supervisors and Training Officer support and plan the development needs of each carer worker/care assistant.

We are very thorough in what we do, we are regulated by CQC, and the quality of our training and monitoring is just one difference between a regulated provider and one who isn’t.

Here is what some of our Care Asstants have said about their training:
