Meet our team of care professionals

Karen Waddington
Business Administrator

Karen joined us in 2019 as Training Officer and has now moved into the position of Operations Manager responsible for both offices in Hove and Newhaven. She is still responsible for training all new care assistants and for the on-going continued professional development of the wider existing teams and carers.

 

Due to her astounding skills base and ability to problem solve she has taken on the whole of Operations Manager for the two businesses. This includes supporting the Registered Care Managers with compliance as well as using her knowledge as a registered nurse to guide the business, new and experienced employees to fulfil potential.


Karen considers;

The investment made in training our staff to a high standard is a testament to the level of care that’s provided ensuring all staff are prepared for the individual needs of our customers.

Louise Webb
Live-In Care Supervisor

Louise has been with the Bluebird Care (Lewes Distrcit, Brighton & Hove) team since 2016 working as a key member to both teams. Holding a Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Louise works as Live-In Care Supervisor across both offices.

Louise says:

I find my job as a Live-in Care Supervisor very rewarding. It is lovely watching a person flourish and enjoy the company of our wonderful Live-in carers. We are making a positive difference to an individual’s life and that is a great feeling. Live-in Care is my passion. My priority is the wellbeing of our carers and customers, and to ensure they are receiving the best care.

Terri Matthews
Care Manager

Terri originally started with Bluebird Care (Lewes District) in July 2011 where she was the Company’s first and only carer. When the Company was in its infancy she helped with a variety duties to help get the business off the ground. Terri then left to start her own business and soon discovered that she missed her love for care. She returned to the sector where she gained experience in hospital and nursing home settings. During the pandemic Terri worked in a nursing home and was responsible for keeping residents safe. Terri has been a manual handling trainer and has considerable amount of nurse training. She holds a Level 3 diploma in Health & Social Care and will be working towards Level 5. Terri is honoured to be working with Bluebird Care once again, now as Care Manager, and is looking forward to assisting the company to new heights. 

Courtney- May Hesling
Lead Co-ordinator

Courtney started with Bluebird Care (Lewes District, Brighton & Hove) in November 2023 as the Lead Care Co-Ordinator across both offices. Courtney has worked within the care sector for 11 years across both residential and domiciliary care. During those 11 years, Courtney has worked across many roles from a care assistant to a deputy manager within a residential care home. Courtney is highly motivated, proactive and has a positive attitude. Courtney is keen to work as part of the team and is committed to providing clients, their families, and carers a very high-quality level of support.

Sandra Holland
Area Supervisor

Sandra started her work with Bluebird Care (Lewes District, Brighton & Hove) as a Care Worker and has been promoted to the position of Area Supervisor. She works from our Hove office, as our lead Supervisor. Sandra's main role is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of customers and Care Workers alike.

I enjoy my work as a carer and area supervisor, I have been a carer for over 10 years and I really enjoy my role. I started with Bluebird 3 years ago, as a carer and have now worked my way to being an area supervisor. I have respect for all my customers and carers, and I like to see the customers flourish, with our help and dedication, to their care. The carers that work with us are so passionate, and understanding in what they do.

Sara D
Area Supervisor

Sara has been working for Bluebird Care since 2014 as a carer and recently joined the office team as an Area Supervisor.  Since joining Sara has been loyal, hardworking, reliable, and always helping with extra when needed.  Sara completed Level 2 in Adult Social Care. Since joining the office team, Sara has learnt a different side and found it very interesting.  Knowing the customers Sara has been about to support the carers and review customers care plans effectively.  

Sara enjoys both the caring and office-based roles and from September will be working in the office 2 days a week and the rest being a carer again.

Sara states  “I enjoy looking after people in their own homes and encouraging the customers to be involved in their care as much as possible, always ensuring their safety.  I also enjoy supporting my colleagues around me and ensuring the new carers have full support and understanding of their role”.
