Bluebird Care (Sheffield) is led by Directors Mark Wright and Mark Lund. Both started providing home care to offer customers in the area excellent standards of care and support while remaining in the comfort of their own homes. Delivering the highest quality home care service and support is both Marks' absolute goal and the team would love to hear from anyone who is seeking home care for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.
Bluebird Care (Sheffield) began delivering quality home care on 23rd December 2009 and we expanded and opened Bluebird Care (Chesterfield and NE Derbyshire) in August 2021
Mark Wright and Mark Lund are the Franchisees and met in 1996 whilst working for a large retail banking organisation.
Our experience in managing people and business prepared us for the delivery of very high standards of customer care and service whilst working in a highly regulated environment. We strive, every day, to deliver good old fashioned service and care to all of our customers.
Daniel Bunn
Operations Director
Dan is the Operations Director and Care Quality Commission (CQC) Nominated Individual for Bluebird Care (Sheffield).
Dan began his career journey with Bluebird Care in 2013 as a Care Assistant. He quickly demonstrated competence and excellent ability in supervision and management skills which resulted in several promotions through the ranks at Bluebird Care (Sheffield) from Supervision Manager, Deputy Care Manager, Registered Care Manager of Bluebird Care (Sheffield) in 2017 and Registered Care Manager of Bluebird Care (Chesterfield and NE Derbyshire) in 2020.
In August 2021 Dan was promoted to Operations Director due to the operational demands of our expanding businesses. Dan's role is to maximise the operational efficiency and drive the growth of our businesses, he has overall responsibility for the effective operations of the businesses and is the direct line manager to our Registered Care Managers. Dan supports our Registered Care Managers to ensure we deliver safe, high quality and effective home care to our customers.
I am committed to the development of the teams both operational and field based and have a keen interest in using new technology to develop the quality of care delivery and the skills of workers
Lynsey Howland
Registered Care Manager
Lynsey joined the team in September 2017 as our dedicated Training Manager. Lynsey has a wealth of experience in the care sector with her previous two roles as the Registered Manager.
Since 2017 Lynsey has shown excellent management skills and an ability to undertake greater responsibility throughout the business and therefore in July 2019 the decision was taken to promote Lynsey to Deputy Care Manager. Further progression was achieved in October 2021 when after a restructure of the management due to the growth of our businesses resulted in Lynsey being promoted to the Registered Care Manager of Bluebird Care (Sheffield). Lynsey went on to take further responsibilities in September 2023 and is now the Care Manager for both of our businesses.
Lynsey has responsibility for both the Bluebird Care (Sheffield) and Bluebird Care (Chesterfield and NE Derbyshire) branches and manages the service to ensure our customers receive premium quality care.
Julie Brittain
Care Planner/Reviewer
Julie has worked for two separate Bluebird Care offices, originally based at the Petersfield office, Julie moved back to her native Sheffield in 2010 when she joined the team as a Care Assistant. Julie's extensive experience and knowledge of Domiciliary Care, together with her reliability earned her several promotions through the ranks. Julie took the decision in early 2019 to focus on her home life and family and reduced her hours to part-time and took the role of Care Planner/Reviewer.
She is responsible alongside the Supervision Team for the customer care planning processes and continued review of customer care.
Julie enjoys supporting someone seeking care from the first point of contact through to their having an established care package in place. Julie understands how daunting the process can be and takes pride in supporting people through their care journey.
To ensure all of our customers (new and existing) receive the best service and care. I work with the customer, their family or representatives to create tailored care packages. I ensure Care Assistant's are provided with the most up to date information to allow us to continually provide the highest level of quality care and support.
Sarah James
Deputy Care Manager
Sarah joined Bluebird Care (Sheffield) as a Care Assistant in November 2019. Despite this being Sarah's first role in the care industry she learned quickly resulting in her being promoted to Care Supervisor in December 2021. In this role Sarah began honing her management skills before being promoted again to Deputy Care Manager in May 2022.
Sarah oversees the day to day activities of the management team providing support and encouragement to the team to ensure they have all the tools they need to ensure the service runs as smoothly as possible.
Dave Tagg
Lead Care Coordinator
Dave joined Bluebird Care (Sheffield) joined the team in October 2021 as a Care Coordinator. Dave has a wealth of experience within the care industry having worked within residential care for 16 years prior to joining us.
Dave quickly showed his leadership skills helping to provide a consistent, upbeat attitude to the team which resulted in his promotion to Lead Care Coordinator in May 2023.
Dave guides his team ensuring they provide our customers with as much consistency of both call timings and carers as possible.
Julie Allen
Lead Care Supervisor
Julie joined Bluebird Care (Sheffield) as a Care Assistant in April 2020. This was her first role within the care industry however Julie quickly found her feet working as part of our palliative care team while also providing care within complex care packages we provided.
In April 2022, after seeing her potential shine through, we promoted Julie to Care Supervisor. In this role Julie excelled. Her organisation skills were a blessing with an ever increasing staff team and introduction of more specialised skills to enable us to support more complex customers.
In May 2023 Julie was promoted to Lead Care Supervisor. She now leads her team to maintain our high supervision standards, ensuring the staff team are supported in all areas.
Lisa Gillott
Trainer
Lisa joined Bluebird Care (Sheffield) in August 2021 as a Care Assistant. Her first role in within care she had previously worked for 32 years at John Lewis. Lisa found her feet swiftly and sought new challenges leading to her became a key member of our complex care team.
Her skills in these packages led to our promoting her to the role of Care Supervisor in September 2022 where Lisa expanded her knowledge and skills. While in this role Lisa showed a tremendous skill in sharing information and supporting staff new to the industry. For this reason we up skilled Lisa to enable her to take the role of Trainer. Lisa officially assumed this role in September 2024.
Toni Green
Recruiter
Toni joined the team at Bluebird Care (Sheffield) in October 2022. She brought with her a wealth of experience recruiting within the care industry.
Toni is challenged with building an ever growing workforce of the highest quality care assistants Sheffield and the surrounding areas have to offer. She meets this challenge with a smile on her face.
Toni consistently receives positive feedback for how she represents Bluebird Care (Sheffield) from the first point of contact through to induction training.
Colette Longworth
Care Coordinator
Colette joined us here at Bluebird Care (Sheffield) in August 2022 as a Care Coordinator.
A nurse and midwife in her native South Africa, Colette also worked within residential settings meaning she has a wealth of knowledge and experience she brings to the team.
Colette meets the challenge of care coordination with a dry wit and a commitment to teamwork.
Debra Rose
Care Supervisor
Debra joined the team in September 2023 as a Care Supervisor. Debra has worked within the care industry for the majority of her life in a variety of roles including home care, working with young people and working with individuals with autism.
Debra quickly rose to the challenges of the role before undertaking oversight of one of our complex care packages. She led a team to enable a woman to return to her home with 24 hour care in place with a staff team who were up skilled and confident to provide specialism care. Debra continues to provide oversight to this package providing the customer, her family and her care team with support and guidance while simultaneously providing the same to the wider staff team.
Emma Biggin
Care Coordinator
Emma joined Bluebird Care (Sheffield) as a Care Assistant in May 2021. She joined our palliative care team where she supported customers and their families at the most difficult point of their lives.
Emma joined the management team as a Care Coordinator in January 2024 as she looked to expand her knowledge and skill sets.
Having been a member of the care team previously Emma understands the challenges from both sides and works to bridge the gap of understanding with her team mates.
Tina Dyson
Night Care Supervisor
Tina has worked with Bluebird Care since December 2017. Having worked as a Care Assistant she was promoted to Night Care Supervisor in February 2022.
As our night care expanded the need for oversight became apparent. Tina was happy to assume this new role with all it's challenges. Tina provides immediate support to our night care assistants while overseeing our night care packages to ensure everything is in place.
Giovanna Forster-Reay
Night Care Supervisor
Giovanna joined our night roaming care team In July of 2022. This service works throughout the night providing over 120 pop in visits each night to support individuals with continence care and repositioning therefore reducing hospital admissions and allowing people to remain home.
Giovanna showed commitment to both the team and the customers leading to her promotion to Night Care Supervisor in January 2024.
Zoe Slingsby
Night Care Supervisor
Zoe joined our night roaming team in September 2022. Over time she began undertaking some night sits with our more complex night care customers.
Continuing to look for a challenge Zoe was promoted to Night Care Supervisor role starting in June 2024. Here she is building her skills in the management of service while providing support to our night care assistants.
