The office support team at Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk have an extensive knowledge and vast experience delivering high-quality, person-centred home care services to their local communities, across Norwich, North Norfolk and the Norfolk Broadland.

As a member of our Care Team, you’ll work closely with the office and operations team as they assist you to develop, grow and succeed in your career.

When you join the Bluebird Care family our team will provide you with continued career support, from in-house specialist training programmes delivered by our Training Office Sarah Millard, to career journey and wellbeing support provided by our Registered Manager Vicky Poynter and Lead Supervisor Sarah Johnson.

Care Mentor

I started my career with BluebirdCare Norwich and North Norfolk in 2019 as a carer, with no experience and feeling a little anxious, but I built my knowledge and confidence with the support of the amazing office team. I love being a carer, seeing the difference I can make to a persons life. Seeing them smile knowing they’re safe and looked after is so rewarding. I became a mentor at the start of 2022, I wanted to help and support the carers like my mentor did for me in 2019. 

When I’m not at work I’m found walking around woodland areas and fields with my dog Theo, I don’t enjoy it so much in the winter but Theo does and that’s all that matters. 

Prash & Vinni Chanda
Owners and Directors

Prash & Vinni are well-qualified and experienced business professionals who are passionate about helping others and giving back to society. They have a passion and commitment to outstanding care, which continues to be a driving factor in all that they do. 

Prash & Vinni believe in the four key fundamental pillars (Honesty, Empathy, Respect & Trust) and this underpins everything they and their team do. 

They have been engaged in and contributed to many community organisations, including charities. 

Bluebird Care is built on quality, determination, empathy and passion, all of which are strongly aligned with Prash and Vinni’s core values.

In Prash & Vinni’s spare time, they enjoy spending time with family and can occasionally seen running… but it’s usually after their young children!

Vicky Poynter
Registered Manager

Vicky has gained many years of experience within Health and Social Care, initially beginning her career as a Home Care Assistant in 2006, before becoming an Administrator in 2009. She then progressed to Moving & Handling Instructor, Medication Trainer/Officer and Recruitment Coordinator, before joining Bluebird Care in 2016 as our Recruitment & HR Manager.  

Vicky's qualifications include NVQ Level 2, various Train The Trainer certificates, PTTLS (teaching) Level 4, prescription training and she also became a Dementia Coach in 2014 with the Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance. More recently she has successfully completed her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care. Vicky has contiually progressed throughout her career journey with Bluebird Care, soon moving into to the role of Deputy Manager in 2017 and more recently achieving promotion once again in 2019, following a successful registration process with The Care Quality Commission to become our Registered Manager!  

Vicky works closely with the Directors and holds overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the 'day to day' operation of the services we provide for our customers. In addition, Vicky is also responsible for the management, recruitment and training of our care and office teams.   

Vicky is very much a ‘people person’ and is passionate about providing high quality care - she believes the experience she has gained from working as a Care Assistant has given her the insight required for recruiting and supporting a strong team of care assistants who safely and professionally deliver the services we provide for our customers.

Vicky is a keen charity supporter too, even facing her own fears by jumping out of a plane for charity and raising £750 for the Alzheimer's Association in the process!

Sarah Johnson
Lead Supervisor

Sarah joined Bluebird Care as one of our very first care assistants, shortly after we opened our office here in Norfolk in 2010. We are very proud of Sarah, as she is now our longest serving employee within the Bluebird Care ‘family’ here in Norwich & North Norfolk and has contributed to the success, growth and progression of our service over the years. 

Sarah is a respected and loyal member of the team, always dedicated to providing the highest quality of service and support for our customers and staff. Having carved an impressive and progressive career path over the past 10 years, Sarah always remains dedicated and committed to her customers and colleague's day to day. She has worked very hard to achieve a number of professional qualifications since joining Bluebird Care and successfully completed her Level 5 in leadership and management in the summer of 2019. 

Sarah says:

“I joined Bluebird Care in October 2010 and was among the first five care assistants employed by the company. I started off as a part time Care Assistant with no background in the industry and little idea of what to expect. With thorough training and support of the management team I soon found that it was not only rewarding, but also a role I enjoyed and wanted to build my career on with Bluebird Care.
During my time with Bluebird Care I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 diplomas in Health and Social Care becoming a full time supervisor in April 2013. I then moved to become the Care Co-ordinator later in the same year. Both roles offered different challenges and gave me a great sense of satisfaction. I went on to complete my Level 3 diploma in Business Administration and I have recently completed my Level 5 in Leadership and Management.

My current role of Lead Supervisor allows me the opportunity to support the Supervisor and Co-ordinator team as well as the Care Assistants and also work closely with our customers to build person centred care packages and ensure our customers are receiving good quality care".

Sarah Millard
Training Officer

Sarah began her career in care 20 years ago, initially starting out as a care assistant, working night shifts in a care home, then moving into domiciliary care in 2000. Having gained many qualifications and developing new skills along the way, Sarah is very proud to hold her A1 Assessor Award, her Level 4 diploma in Health and Social Care and she is currently completing her AET teaching qualification.

Sarah originally joined Bluebird Care (Norwich & North Norfolk) as Registered Manager back in 2011, during which time she supported the staff and the business in the early years, before taking a period of extended maternity leave following the birth of her third daughter. Sarah has continued to further develop her teaching and training skills in recent years - as whilst busy raising her 3 daughters she also fitted in teaching children in the education sector and studied to achieve her Level 2 in Understanding Autism and Level 3 in Supporting whilst Teaching In Schools!  

We were delighted to welcome Sarah back to Bluebird Care in Summer 2019, when the opportunity arose for a new Training Officer to join the team. Sarah says she is very excited to be able to continue her training and teaching career in health and social care, and to be back with Bluebird Care (Norwich and North Norfolk)! Sarah now supports, trains and develops our care teams throughout  their individual career journeys in her new role.

Sarah Newbold
Recruitment & HR Manager

Before working in the social care industry Sarah had extensive experience working in leadership and administrative roles. In 2019 Sarah joined Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk as a Care Assistant where she fell in love with homecare. In her role her compassionate and driven nature and her background in administration with the NHS combined, and Sarah developed in her career to progress first to Care Mentor, then to Care Supervisor and more recently to the position of Recruitment & HR Manager in December 2021.

Outside of work Sarah can be found spending time with her family, enjoying walks in Thetford Forest, trips to the cinema and attending concerts. Sarah is a big fan of comedy and loves when everyone is smiling and laughing together.

Sarah believes “every day is a positive day when you are making a difference to someone’s life”. A sentiment which she delivers wholeheartedly as part of the Bluebird Care team.

Claire Turner
Care Coordinator

In her role as Care Coordinator in the operations team Claire is one of the first points of contact for our customers and care team on a day-to-day basis. Claire’s caring and compassionate nature combine with her experienced history as a Home Care Assistant, Care Team Trainer and Deputy Manager.

Before joining the home care sector Claire worked with children. Her experience caring for a family member with Parkinson’s inspired her move into a new market where she found working in home care to be extremely rewarding, with new challenges and values.

Outside of work Claire enjoys trips away, exploring the English countryside with her husband, friends and puggle Tilly in their motorhome. Claire also lives with her two sons who are at the centre of her world. Speaking of her move to Bluebird Care Claire says, “For me making a difference to my customers is paramount.” We couldn’t agree more!

Lindsey Byrne
Care Supervisor

Before working in Health and Social Care, I spent over 35 years in various administrative roles. I started my career in social care as a support worker for adults with mental health and learning disabilities.

In 2017 I moved over to domiciliary care as a care assistant.  This was going to be a temporary position but 5 years later I am still thoroughly enjoying working in domiciliary care.

It is such a rewarding and enjoyable industry to work in.  I have gained lots of experience within roles such as Medication Champion, First Aider, Team Leader, Care coordinator and feel that the knowledge and experience has strengthened my role as Care Supervisor for Bluebird Care (Norwich & North Norfolk).  I will continue to develop my skills and knowledge through ongoing training and the opportunities made available to me from Bluebird Care (Norwich & North Norfolk).

Cat Trede
Business Administrator

My career has taken me into many different environments and industries. I became a volunteer in 2011 for St John Ambulance, and was excited to have the opportunity to turn my hobby into a full time position.  Becoming involved with treating patients and transporting them around the country and doing some re-pats as well as taking them to hospital in emergency instances, was very fulfilling and a privilege.  I also passed my IHCD Emergency Response Driving qualification. However due to an injury I sustained I transferred to the office.  Using my admin experience and knowledge I was able to provide and improve a consistent, high quality customer service. I gained further qualifications whilst in the role, BTEC L2 in Team Leading, BTEC L3 Diploma in Management and became a Mental Health First Aider as well as many more to aid my role and career.

When I am not in work, I love to spend time with my family, and I can often be found in the forefront of creating mischief with my grandchildren. I am a self-trained gardener and I love to spend time in the garden I created.  I also enjoy travelling with my husband and friends around the world, exploring different countries, my favourite being Italy. I am a rugby widow!  Having married a rugby player, the sport has ruled my life, and as the motto goes “if you can’t beat them join them”. I am involved in our local Rugby Club and support my home town club of Northampton Saints attending games as and when I can.

I am very excited to be starting a new chapter in my career, bringing my knowledge and experience to my new role, at Bluebird Care Norwich & Norfolk, who have a good reputation and ethos within the Care industry I am proud to be a part of.

Sarah Wright
Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper

Sarah is an experienced accounts assistant and bookkeeper and a very welcome addition to our team! 

Sarah is delighted to help with any queries in connection to our customer invoices or supplier accounts. In addition, Sarah also supports the administration of our staff payroll and financial systems.

Kirsty Wright
Live-in Care Coordinator

Hi my name is Kirsty, I am the new live in care coordinator for Bluebird care Norwich and North Norfolk. I have got 8 years of care experience behind me working in many areas and have worked my way up from healthcare assistant to senior care assistant and now as a care coordinator. I am very passionate about the line of work that I am in and feel very happy here. In my spare time and most weekends I play lawn bowls indoors and outdoors depending on season which I play at county level and proud to get there. I like to do crafts in my spare time if I am not following my fiancĂ©e around when he is playing bowls.
