Meet our team of care professionals

Don Gregor & Carole Gent
Owners and Directors

Don Gregor & Carole Gent both have professional backgrounds in 'customer focused' business management, established within the hospitality and aviation industries,respectively. 

Prior to joining the care sector, Don prouldy served a 16 year career in the RAF during which he completed worldwide postings within a number of theatres of war whilst undertaking a vocational  career as a Head Chef with the RAF. Don later qualified as a D32/D33 assessor back in civilian life and supported young people with learning disabilities to develop their careers within in the catering industry. Eventually this lead into Hospitlaity Management, within Relais Chateaux and AA Redstar hotels, where Don worked as a General Manager before making the decision to join the Care Sector. 

Carole's career was originlly established flying worldwide as Senior Cabin Crew for 17 years for a 'well known' airline managing a team of cabin crew, inflight services and onboard safety & emergency procedures within the aircraft cabin.  

After hanging up her 'wings' Carole then joined the hospitalityindustry, where she met Don. Carole has worked within wedding and corporate event planning, administatration and as a Town Hall Manager before joining the care industry. 

High quality customer care has always been a key element in service provision for both Don and Carole. Their decision to bring shared values of customer care and quality service into the 'care at home' sector of the care industry was prompted by personal experiences within their own family.They simply share a strong desire to provide a service of the quality they would like their own loved ones to receive and strive to recruit and support the highest calibre of management and staff to assist them to deliver the services provided.  

By placing a very strong emphasis on the highest quality customer service, working together with their team, Don & Carole hope to make that 'special' difference to enable their customers to remain living fulfilled and independent lives in their own homes... for as long as they are able to do so.

Don & Carole relocated to Norfolk with their family after they had developed a strong affection for the county following holidays spent here. They initially opened the Bluebird Care office serving the Norwich & Broadland area in Dec 2010. The demand for the care services provided by the team grew rapidly and expansion of the service into the North Norfolk area followed in November 2012, with further expansion including the provision of a 24 hour 'Live In' Care Service across all three regions in more recent years. 

Both Don & Carole can be contacted through the Norwich office at any time and they work closely with their teams on a daily basis.

Vicky Poynter
Registered Manager

Vicky has gained many years of experience within Health and Social Care, initially beginning her career as a Home Care Assistant in 2006, before becoming an Administrator in 2009. She then progressed to Moving & Handling Instructor, Medication Trainer/Officer and Recruitment Coordinator, before joining Bluebird Care in 2016 as our Recruitment & HR Manager.  

Vicky's qualifications include NVQ Level 2, various Train The Trainer certificates, PTTLS ( teaching) Level 4, prescription training and she also became a Dementia Coach in 2014 with the Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance . More recently she has successfully completed her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care.  Vicky has contiually progressed throughout her career journey with Bluebird Care, soon moving into to the role of Deputy Manager in 2017 and more recently achieving promotion once again in 2019, following a successful registration process with The Care Quality Commission to become our Registered Manager!  

Vicky works closely with the Directors and holds overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the 'day to day' operation of the services we provide for our customers. In addition, Vicky is also responsible for the management, recruitment and training of our care and office teams.   

Vicky is very much a ‘people person’ and is passionate about providing high quality care - she believes the experience she has gained from working as a Care Assistant has given her the insight required for recruiting and supporting a strong team of care assistants who safely and professionally deliver the services we provide for our customers.
Vicky is a keen charity supporter too, even facing her own fears by jumping out of a plane for charity and raising £750 for the Alzheimer's Association in the process!

Sarah Wright
Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper

Sarah is an experienced accounts assistant and bookkeeper and a very welcome addition to our team! 

Sarah is delighted to help with any queries in connection our customer invoices or supplier accounts. In addition, Sarah also supports the administration of our staff payroll and financial systems.

Janine Ford
Care Coordinator

Janine's role is primarily to oversee and  manage the scheduling of all the required care visits for our customers whilst matching our customers with our team of care assistants and also producing weekly rosters of  both the daily visits and our  24hr Live In Care service.  The role requires a very level head and an organised and methodical approach,  whilst also juggling the many  unforseen challenges which present themsleves each day in a community based home care service where we have staff working  remotely. 

Often Janine will  also be the first point of contact when both staff and customers call the office. 

On leaving school Janine trained as a car mechanic and gained a City and Guilds in Motor Vehicle Maintenance. She then went on to work for Lotus, a small but well-known local car company where she gained a BTEC diploma in Motor Vehicle Engineering.

Janine has worked in Health and Social Care since April 2003, almost 17 years, and gained lots of training and experience with in roles such as Medication Champion, Health and Safety Officer, Company First Aider, Fire Marshall and Staff Advocate and feels that the knowledge and experience has strengthened her role as Care Coordinator for Bluebird Care (Norwich & North Norfolk)

Janine’s hobbies and interests include Travel and Culture, riding her pink and purple fluffy trike on long road trips through Spain and Portugal, Photography, Fishing, and History and in her spare time she is a Beaver Scout Leader and teaches 6-8 year old children so that they can have more fun outside than sitting inside watching TV!

Freya Lincoln
Recruitment & Marketing Manager

As Recruitment and Marketing Manager Freya oversees the full recruitment and onboarding process for our new Care Assistants, Live-in Care Assistants and operational Support/Admin team members here in Norwich & North Norfolk. 

In addition, Freya brings a wealth of experience to Bluebird Care from her professional background in marketing within the social care and technology sectors. Freya utilises her expertise in marketing to support the business to develop and expand our range of current and future services in line with the needs and requirements of our customers throughout the Norwich, Broadland & North Norfolk areas. 

I’m happiest when I’m able to combine my creativity with my passion for helping people. I feel value when I’m enabling our care team to grow in their careers and supporting our customers to receive the personalised quality care they deserve.”

Outside of work Freya loves to enjoy nature and on sunny days can be found exploring the countryside on her bike.

Sarah Millard
Training Officer

Sarah began her career in care almost 20 years ago, initially starting out as a care assistant, working night shifts in a care home, then moving into domiciliary care in 2000. Having gained many qualifications and developed new skills along the way, Sarah is very proud to hold her A1 Assessor Award, her Level 4 diploma in Health and Social Care and she is currently completing her AET teaching qualification.

Sarah originally joined Bluebird Care ( Norwich & North Norfolk) as Registered Manager back in 2011, during which time she  supported  the staff and the business in the early years, before taking a period of  extended maternity leave following the birth of her third daughter.     Sarah has continued to further develop her teaching and training skills in recent years - as whilst busy raising her 3 daughters she also fitted in teaching children in the education sector and studied to achieve her  Level 2 in Understanding Autism and Level 3 in Supporting whilst Teaching In Schools!  

We were delighted to welcome Sarah back to Bluebird Care  in Summer 2019, when the opportunity arose for a new Training Officer to join the team .  Sarah says she is very excited to be able to  continue her training and teaching career in health and social care, and back with Bluebird Care (Norwich and North Norfolk)! Sarah now supports, trains and develops  our care teams throughout  their individual career journeys in her new role.
