Do you need Experience in the care sector?

No Experience, Thats not a problem for us.

We will provide you with a full four day induction which will cover all of the training you will need, after the induction process we will roster you with one of our more experienced care workers to 'shadow' our customers. Once you feel confident to get hands on we will ask the more experienced member of staff to take a step back and observe you, they will be present should you need guidance. Once you feel confident and comfortable we will arrange for our field care supervisor or carer mentor to complete your competency observations. Should we find, or you feel you need training in any area we will ensure this is completed and that you are fully supported in this area before expecting you to work alone.

Once your shadowing period has come to an end, we will still support you in the following way's for at least 12 weeks (Probationary period) :

Supervisions - You will be asked to complete supervisions with a Field Care supervisors regular.

Competency Checks - Our Carer Mentor or Field Care supervisions will come out into the field to check your competency, reassure you and/or support you.

A competency check is not a negative experience, they are for us all to identify any areas that you may need some more guidance in.

Emails & Text Messages - We will check in on you at least once a week.

Care certificate - We will give you as much support as you need to complete this within your first 12- weeks.

We promise to make you welcome and take you under our Bluebird wings from the very beginning of your recruitment process.

If you still have any questions please give us a call on 01543 505262.

I started as a care worker for Bluebird Care Mid Staffs in 2020. It was my first time ever doing care. I had so much support from the management team and care staff. I'm now care mentor which I absolutely love.
