Meet our team of care professionals

Steve Davie
Director and Joint Owner

Home Care in Lewisham & Southwark is provided through a franchise which is owned by Steve and Lesley Davie and their family. Steve is a Chartered Accountant with many years’ experience of organising the delivery of high quality professional services to demanding customers.

In addition to his accountancy profession background, Steve has several years experience in service-orientated consumer facing businesses at the 'high end' of the retail sector. This background, together with the support and experience of the Bluebird Care franchisor, has made it possible for Steve to create a stable operating platform from which the team’s Care specialists can provide structured and high quality care services to a range of customers within the London Boroughs of Lewisham & Southwark.

In addition to his Home Care responsibilities, Steve is a Governor at the University of Greenwich, treasurer of his local residents association in Beckenham, husband of more than 30 years to Lesley, father of three grown up children, and a lifelong and (after many years of misery) ultimately rewarded supporter of Manchester City football club.

Steve decided to become a Bluebird Care franchisee because he wanted to bring his knowledge and energy to a worthwhile activity that will bring benefits to vulnerable people in his residential area. The 'Good Old-Fashioned Service' ethos of Bluebird Care matches Steve’s attitude to work, and he is committed to creating a Care service that is treasured by its customers.

Ben Davie
Director and Joint Owner

Ben graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2006 with 2:1 BA(Hons) degree in Social Sciences, after which he spent 5 years commissioning and developing content for one of the world's foremost publishers of academic books, journals, and research.
In 2011, he took on a new challenge and joined his father, Steve, as a Director of Bluebird Care Bromley, and subsequently the Sevenoaks and Lewisham & Southwark franchises, which were acquired in 2011 and 2015 respectively.
Together, Steve & Ben oversee the back-office administration of the agency, in particular the core non-care related activities of finance, marketing and overall business strategy, as well as supporting their Registered Managers in their human resources and customer service responsibilities.  
Ben is proud to be part of an award-winning family business, especially one which provides such a high-quality – and highly-valued – service to the local community.

Heather Carter
Registered Manager

Heather joined Bluebird Care Lewisham & Southwark in 2018 and has worked in the Care industry for many years, beginning her career as a Care Assistant, before progressing on to become Care Coordinator, Deputy Manager and a Care Manager of another Home Care agency operating in the London area.

Heather’s broad experience has seen her working with people from all walks of life with a range of care needs, including the elderly, mental health, End of Life and people living independently with learning disabilities and Complex Care needs. Her involvement with Complex Care needs ranged from younger children to adults with spinal and brain injuries. Heather has been extremely passionate about all those for whom she has look after and is dedicated to providing a truly first-class Care service.
Since joining Bluebird Care Lewisham & Southwark, Heather has been overwhelmed by the kindness and consideration shown to the agency's customers by its carers. She is proud to be heading up such a committed and high-performing team, and is very much looking forward to taking them to the next level.

Kate Mortimer
Care Supervisor & Deputy Manager

Kate worked at Fortmun & Mason for several years before seeking a more local job as a carer at Bluebird Care Bromley when her daughter started secondary school in 2010. Kate’s customer service skills and “can-do” attitude were quickly noticed and it was not long before she was promoted to Care Supervisor.

After nearly 3 years Kate left to take a position as Senior Carer at a luxury care home in Bexley, South East London, where she managed a team of carers and gained further, valuable insight into the care of vulnerable adults with complex care needs - as well as the management of people!

We’re delighted to have Kate back in the Bluebird Care family, in a new venture where her experience and attitude will be of real benefit.

Kate’s primary role is to carry out assessments, settle new customers into the service and to monitor care that is being delivered, ensuring that it is staying relevant to their on-going needs.

As Deputy Manager she also plays a supporting role to the branch Care Manager, Debbie, in managing the Care Team and ensuring carefully-selected new recruits are given all the support they need to flourish. 

Anna Perzanowska

Anna is a part-qualified accountant with an analytical mind and a keen eye for detail. She has several years’ experience in customer-facing roles in catering and retail, most recently with Next, and was once a care worker in her home country of Poland.

Outside work Anna in an intrepid explorer: she enjoys traveling and discovering new places and describes herself as an “extreme planner” – she loves spending lots of time researching and planning every detail of her excursions.

These experiences and characteristics equip Anna very well to undertake her current responsibilities in coordinating the weekly visits of the agency’s customers – her first position of its kind but one in which she is excelling.

Olga Bagaley

Olga was educated in England and South Africa and is currently working to complete her qualification as a CIMA Management Accountant. She is the in-house accountant responsible for the three franchised agencies owned by BenJeMax Limited, the Lewisham and Southwark office holding company, which include the agencies in Bromley and Sevenoaks. Olga has been with the company since May 2014, and this is her first foray into the Care sector.
Having worked in many areas such as Architecture, Security, Interior Design and the Oil and Gas industry, Olga decided it was time to get out of the "Central London rat race" and seek a position closer to home with an easier commute.
She finds Bluebird Care a breath of fresh air! She enjoys working with her Care Sector colleagues and really values her contact with the agencies' wonderful customers with whom she has developed great relationships - even though they only speak to her to pay or query their bills! Olga feels that customers all seem to appreciate the hard work that everyone puts in, and in doing so, she gets a real sense of accomplishment.
