Anoop Sekhon
Owner

Bluebird Care Greenwich is led by Anoop Sekhon. Anoop started delivering homecare in Greenwich to help support customers in the area to receive homecare and support while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Delivering the highest quality of homecare and support is Anoop’s absolute goal and the team would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking homecare for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.

Anoop holds a BSc in Business Information Technology. She has worked with the Youth Service for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for 6 years as a HR manager.

Her background in working with young people, including those with significant care needs, has inspired her to work with people with a wide range of care needs and to open Bluebird Care (Greenwich) in March 2012. She is committed to ensuring that she provides a high quality service to the individuals she works with and that the exacting standards of Bluebird Care, UKHCA and CQC are satisfied in full.

Siham Akka
Registered Care Manager

Bluebird Care is more than a company to me. It is more than a job. It is my life and my passion! I started out as a coordinator and worked my way up to becoming a manager, and it’s been a real journey full of so many emotions good and bad, but every day I fall more in love with what I do.
I pride myself on providing the best possible service we as a team can carry out, and the proof is in the pudding! Myself and my team have won 4 awards which reflects this. We have been awarded the Bluebird Care Spirit Award twice, once in 2018 and again in 2022. In 2020 we won the Royal Borough of Greenwich Workforce Development award and in 2022 I won the Home Care Registered Manager of the Year Award. Caring for people isn’t an errand that you just run, my heart is in this! The team I work with make this “job” so worthwhile. Such kind-hearted, hard working people who share the same values as I do. Bluebird Care really is my family!

Siham Akka
Registered Manager

Siham's Care Journey

Siham Akka, the heart and soul behind Bluebird Care Greenwich as the Registered Care Manager since October 2018.  Siham started her care journey back in 2014 as a care assistant; after driving behind a bus, she spotted an advertisement for a career in care and felt an immediate spark. "This could be my calling," she thought, and ever since that moment, she's poured her heart into it. She chose this path because it offered the flexibility she needed to juggle her duties as a mother to two young children and her responsibilities in looking after her mother-in-law.

Fast forward to February 2016, and Siham joined the Bluebird Care Greenwich team as a Care Supervisor. Within a year, she was promoted to Care Coordinator, and just a year later, she proudly took on the role of Care Manager in April 2018, ultimately earning her registration six months later.

Siham isn't your typical manager; she constantly goes above and beyond. The story of an end-of-life customer who found himself with no one to accompany him during his final hours. Macmillan couldn't find available help, and his family lived far away. Unable to bear the thought of him being alone, Siham took her own mattress, loaded it into her car, and drove to his house. There, she spent the entire night on the floor beside him. It's no surprise that the customer, his family, and Macmillan were immensely grateful for Siham's incredible act of kindness.

But Siham's compassion doesn't stop at her customers; it extends to her staff too. Her Care Coordinator sings her praises, describing her as a fantastic manager who's always there to lend support. Siham is approachable, hardworking, and sets the best example for her team. Her dedication to ensuring top-notch care is unmatched, creating a workplace environment like no other.

In September 2022, Siham and her Greenwich team were honoured with The Spirit Award at the Bluebird Care Annual Conference. Bluebird Care Managing Director, Phil, recognised their passion for the company's values, which they proudly represent throughout the entire network.

Just two months later, Siham received the Registered Manager Award at the prestigious Great British Care Awards. Judges were moved by Siham's warmth, her dedication to staff well-being, and her willingness to step in whenever needed.

One customer's daughter summed it up perfectly, expressing her love for Siham's team and their remarkable responsiveness and teamwork. Bluebird Care Greenwich truly shines in the world of caring, all thanks to Siham's dedication and the incredible team she leads.

Kim Clelland
Care Assistant

I started at Bluebird Care Greenwich in February 2020. I joined because I didn’t think I was a peoples person, and I really wanted to get to know people and come out of my shell more. Plus, it was extremely flexible around my family life too.

I love the people I work with and its nice to get to know different kinds of people every day as it keeps me on my toes. I always think to myself, that some of these people that have no one really rely on me to do things for them and I love being able to help those sorts of people, I always feel appreciated.

A quote from Management - ‘Kim always goes above and beyond to help her customers in need, and helping her colleagues when needed. She is very reliable and steps in last minute when there is a problem. She is a great leader, and recognises when things need to be done and uses her own initiative to help people. Having Kim as part of the team is amazing, she always puts her customers at the heart of her work and delivers the greatest care’.

Jackie Emburey
Assistant Manager

My name is Jackie, I have worked for Bluebird Care Greenwich for nearly 5 years. I started working as a care assistant, which I enjoyed very much. After 6 months of being a care assistant I was given the chance to become a Care Supervisor, I have done this role ever since. The most I enjoy about my job, is getting to know all the lovely customers, supporting them to live independently in their own home. Bluebird Care is an amazing company to work for, not only are they my work colleagues, they are my family.

Yussra Darhmaoui
Administrator/ Coordinator

I joined Bluebird Care in January 2023 as the Greenwich Office Administrator, and it’s my first job in the Care industry.  What I like most in my job is the team I’m working with; everyone is very supportive, and they made me feel like I’ve worked here for years. I also love the fact that we support vulnerable people to live their lives with dignity and provide them with all sorts of care in the comfort of their houses. Working with Bluebird Care made me realise that this is the right industry for me, and I am looking forward to improving my skills and gaining more experience in the field.

Toyo Salami
Care Coordinator

I joined Bluebird Care Greenwich in January 2022 as a care assistant and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Having been promoted to a Care coordinator and I get to work in the office and interact with carers and customers from different walks of life, it is one that is very rewarding.

Alice Carpenter
Care Supervisor

I started working in care in 2022 whilst living in Essex and immediately knew I had found a job that I was not only good at, but also enjoyed. I started working for Bluebird Care in October 2023 and within weeks I was offered the role of Care Supervisor. I was thrilled to be given this opportunity and have since started an RQF Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Adult Care. I love being able to be both in office and out in the field and have met a great many wonderful colleagues and customers. This is the most rewarding job I’ve ever had, and I’m excited to see where it takes me.

Maddie Cameron
Marketing Assistant

I joined Bluebird Care in July 2021 as a Marketing Assistant, and straight away the team made me feel so welcome! The team are so supportive and caring towards everyone. I really enjoy my role and look forward to growing and learning new skills!

Ruby Kaur
Finance Manager

I’ve been working with Bluebird Care for a year and a half, since coming back from a long break after Maternity Leave. I love how supportive everyone is and how easy it is to work in a team with everyone here at Bluebird. I graduated with a Finance degree and have worked in Finance since but this has to be my most enjoyable role. I came on board with a lot of Finance skills but I have learnt much about the care industry since and have found it particularly rewarding working in this sector - even though I work back office, I very much enjoy that I can do my bit to help our wonderful customers. I do believe that for everyone here, it more than just a job - when you’re made to feel like an important and essential member of the team, it makes it even easier to go that extra mile.

Yogesh Kumar
Accounts Assistant

I joined Bluebird Care Greenwich in November 2018 as an Accounts Assistant. Since the day I met the team, it was evident to me that I wasn’t just a colleague, but a member of a passionate loving family who take pride in what they do. I love the challenges that come with the role. I have enjoyed every moment thus far & look forward to growing more day by day from my current role to Accounts Manager.
