Shelley Weston
Head of Recruitment

Shelley has recently joined us following a successful career in care recruitment, most recently with a large local care provider. Shelley has also managed teams in other sectors and is a welcome addition to our team, not only managing our recruitment process but supporting our training team and making sure that we have the best carers for our customers. 

David Benjamin
Owner

Bluebird Care Worcester & Wychavon is owned by David Benjamin.   David has been at the helm since 2014, having gained a wealth of professional management experience throughout his career, including as the CEO of Antler and MD of Royal Worcester & Spode.

As a family man, David has seen first-hand how good quality support in the home can bring real benefits to people's lives.  He recognised the need for a high-quality service in the Worcester and Wychavon area to enable people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

Working alongside families and individuals to tailor services to help customers stay in control of their own care, David has grown the business and developed a team of first-class, award-winning professional care assistants and managers, many of whom have been with the company since it started. 

David's primary aim is customer service and delivering the very best homecare is his passion.  With a team of well-trained, well-supported, happy staff, David strives to achieve this every and create a family spirit amongst the care team, customers and their families.

Andy Toon
Care Manager

Being a carer himself, Andy understands that sometimes the hardest decision to make is the initial decision to reach out for help. At Bluebird Care Worcester & Wychavon, his aim is to ensure that your requirements for care and support are heard so we can fully understand your needs, and then he can introduce to you ways in which we can help.

As the Care Manager, it is Andy’s responsibility to ensure the safe delivery of services to our customers in Worcester, Droitwich, Pershore, Evesham, Wychavon and the surrounding areas. Andy is a Dignity Champion who cares deeply about ensuring that all our customers remain as independent as possible and can live their lives with the utmost dignity and respect. Andy’s experience of managing residential care homes, day centers, Children Services and Older Adults is matched by his qualifications. He holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies and Level 7 in Health and Social Care, the highest qualification achievable in the care sector. His passion for care is also demonstrated by his previous work with charities. The team at Bluebird Care Worcester & Wychavon prides itself on being professional, flexible and passionate about delivering the highest quality care and support in the home.

Sonya McCormick
Training Officer

Sonya has been a valued member of the Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon care team for 5 years, following a successful career in child care.  She has taken over the role of training officer and is instrumental in developing our top quality training package, ensuring that our new care assistants get the best start to their career journeys.  She also assists with support supervisory roles as well as carrying out her role as Care Assistant and delighting her customers.  Outside of work Sonya is a keen animal lover and an avid fundraiser for charity.  She has also recently won the Worcestershire Health and Social Care Domiciliary Carer of the Year award.  

Michaela Phillips
Lead Care Coordinator

Before joining our team of care assistants in 2014, Michaela had previously worked as a domiciliary carer for 2 and half years, before taking on a role as activities coordinator in a dementia unit.

After being out in our community as a care assistant, Michaela joined our office team as support coordinator in 2017, working alongside Tracey. Now as our Lead Care Co-ordinator, Michaela is responsible for coordinating care, ensuring all care is delivered on time, ensuring continuity between care assistant and customer is achieved and to assist with administrative duties. Michaela is also our PASSsystem Champion, which is our dedicated data capture system which contains customer and care assistant details, provides instant access to customer care plans and allows family members to access care notes provided by the care assistants.

Michaela is still happy to lend a hand as a carer out in the community when necessary.

Toni Scott-Adams
Live in Care Coordinator

Toni joined Bluebird Care Worcester & Wychavon in November 2023, after being in the industry since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Toni has experience in care homes, the community, end of life care and care management.

Toni is dedicated to delivering exceptional care and is passionate about ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those in her care.

Toni has taken over the role of live-in care coordinator and administrator and is ensuring that our customers get the highest standard of care available.  She also assists with other areas of our business including as a Care Assistant as and when needed.

Outside of work, Toni enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible and also enjoys travelling which she does frequently with her husband.

Toni has also recently been a finalist in the Worcestershire Health and Social Care Domiciliary Carer of the Year award.  

Mel Fenton
Lead Care Supervisor

Joining us in 2014 as a care assistant, Mel bought with her over 20 years experience in the care sector. Mel has previously worked in both domiciliary and care home environments, gaining herself extensive knowledge in all aspects of care.

After being one of our care assistants for two years, Mel began to carry out the role of care supervisor, working alongside Larraine. The role of the care supervisor is to support the care manager in maintaining a high standard of care. As the care supervisor, it is also Mel’s responsibility to ensure all supervisions are carried out on both care assistants and customers, including medication, observation and face-to-face supervisions and reviews. Mel’s duties also include potential customer assessments and creating and updating care plans.

Tracy Juliff
Care Supervisor

Tracy joined Bluebird Care as a Care Assistant during the Covid-19 pandemic and soon rose to Support Care Supervisor and then promoted to Care Supervisor.

With over 10 years care experience both in the community and working within an NHS hospital, Tracy has attained her level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.  She is passionate about delivering exceptional care and is very popular with both her customers and her team colleagues.

Shazana Sajid
Care Supervisor

Shazana has worked for several years in the care industry from residential, supported living and recently working in domiciliary care.

She has had various roles in the past that have helped to build her skills and knowledge. Having started as a care worker, Shazana then developed into team leader and care coordinator. Her previous role was Recruitment & Training Manager.

Shazana has experience in mental health & forensics as well complex needs. She is passionate about supporting and helping people in achieving the best possible care and to maintain their independence. 

She enjoys working as part of a team and supporting staff to help them develop their skills and to achieve their goals.

Outside of work Shazana loves spending time with her family and enjoys reading, traveling and cooking.
