Meet our team of care professionals

Tushar Shah
Owner Director

Hi there, I’m Tushar, one of the co-owners of Bluebird Care! Before we launched this company, I had the opportunity to gain extensive experience in various management roles at Mars Inc., covering areas like IT, Commercial, Sales, and Marketing. One of my standout achievements there was managing our European Advertising and Media Agency relationships, which really honed my skills in building and maintaining strong partnerships.

At Bluebird Care, my main focus is on business development. I work closely with councils, CCGs, and local charities to pinpoint community challenges and develop sustainable, long-term solutions. I’m passionate about fostering a culture of quality and excellence within our team, collaborating with managers to ensure our training and values positively impact our customers.

Outside of work, I love staying active. I’m an avid runner and have completed the New York Marathon. I also compete in triathlons, explore new places through travel, capture moments with my camera, and treasure time spent with my family.

My diverse background, commitment to excellence, and dedication to the community drive me to contribute meaningfully to the Bluebird Care team.

Mehul Shah
Owner Director

Hi, I’m Mehul, one of the co-owners of Bluebird Care. Before diving into the world of home care, I built a strong background in Investment Banking and Finance with leading global investment banks. My experience included managing extensive European property portfolios and advising multinational corporations on mergers and acquisitions.

I’m passionate about operational excellence and lead the Bluebird Care team with a focus on ensuring that our systems and processes deliver top-notch care. I’m dedicated to meeting the standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure that we consistently provide the highest quality of care.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family. I’m also a big fan of badminton, cycling, and 5-a-side football (Go Spurs!). In my downtime, I enjoy playing the piano and traveling—whether it’s relaxing on a beach or hitting the slopes in the Alps. I’m also a foodie at heart and enjoy exploring the diverse restaurant scene in London.

At Bluebird Care, my commitment to excellence and quality care is evident in everything we do. I’m proud of our team’s dedication to providing exceptional, personalized home care that meets each client’s unique needs.

Rebecca Hawkins
Business Development Manager

Hi, I'm Rebecca Hawkins, but most people call me Becki. I joined Bluebird Care back in 2009 as a carer, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to grow with the team, first stepping into the role of Co-ordinator for four years, and then moving on to become the Deputy Manager for Reading in 2013. After taking a break for maternity leave in 2014, I returned to lead the Business Development side of things, which has been both challenging and rewarding.

I'm really passionate about customer service and ensuring that Bluebird Care consistently delivers the highest quality of care. I love finding ways to improve our business and drive new initiatives that make a real difference.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, and catching up with friends in any enviroment. I’ve also got a soft spot for horses and love getting creative with arts and crafts. And when I can, I enjoy playing a round of golf—it's a great way to unwind and have some fun!

Alex Witten
Registered Care Manager

Hi there! I’m Alex, and I first joined the team as a care assistant back in 2009. I quickly took on the role of branch supervisor and continued to grow in my career. In 2014, I relocated to Brighton but kept on advancing in the care sector. I rejoined Bluebird Care in 2016 as the Care Manager for our Windsor & Maidenhead branch. By March 2018 and again in 2023, I was honored to step into the role of Registered Care Manager.

Throughout my journey with Bluebird Care, I’ve been recognised for my efforts, including being named a regional winner at the Great British Care Awards in 2019. I’ve worked hard to build strong relationships with both our customers and carers, ensuring a high standard of care in our area. I’ve also led initiatives like the rollout of our cutting-edge electronic care planning system.

Outside of work, I love going to festivals when I can, catching up with friends, and spending quality time with my young family.

Pauline McDermott
Live-in Care and Training Manager

Hi my name is Pauline, I was born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and moved to Dublin in the late 80s, where I raised my two sons in a rugby-loving family. After a rewarding career shift to Health & Social Care 18 years ago, I found my passion in making a difference. As the Live In Care Manager & Training Manager at Bluebird Care, I’m committed to delivering high standards of care and support for both our customers and carers. Outside of work, I enjoy rugby, fundraising, walking my Westie Chester, and spending time with family and friends.

Rebecca Underwood
Care Supervisor

Hi, my name is Rebecca, but I also like to be known as becky. I've been working in care for eight years now, and for the past five of those years, I've been with Bluebird Care. Over the years, I've grown a lot with the company, starting as a Care Assistant and eventually progressing to my current role. I absolutely love being a supervisor and taking on the responsibility of providing our medication training. I'm passionate about both roles and truly dedicated to what I do.

The Care Assistants find me approachable and reasonable, and I always make sure to follow up on any situations that come up.

Outside of work, I'm married and have two wonderful children and two dogs. I cherish spending time with them and often go for long walks around Maidenhead with my friends and family.
