Care assistant testimonials

I have only worked for Bluebird Care Northampton & Daventry for the last 6 months and in that time I have gone from being a care worker to support supervisor/support co-ordinator. I moved to the area not knowing anyone and now I have managed to achieve so much with the help and support of everyone in our team!

I loved my job role of being a care worker, I always felt like I am making a difference in our customers lives, but I wanted a new challenge and to push myself further in my career. I applied for the role and shortly after I heard back that I got the job! I was nervous as I had never done this type of role before but with training from my Manager and Directors along with the support and encouragement from the management team I am fully settled within my role and enjoy coming to work.

Even though my job requires me to come into the office I still get a chance to see our customers, which always brightens up my day.

I feel so lucky to have such incredible support and amazing team backing me. I couldn't wish for a better job.

-Levi Faulkner, Co-ordinator at Bluebird Care Northampton

When I first started working with Bluebird Care I was excited and full of energy, then after my induction I lost my confidence feeling a bit scared travelling around to the various clients driving on my own. However, with the continued support of Arlene our Care Manager and Gemma and other colleagues I was able to regain my composure and confidence and is now  travelling on my own.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere gratitude to the entire care team and office officials. I endeavour to strive for the continued success and growth of Bluebird Care.

- Sonia Spence, Care Assistant at Bluebird Care Northampton

My name is Stacie Curley, I have worked for Bluebird Care Northampton for over one year and this is my first job in the care sector. Before I joined Bluebird Care Northampton, I worked in a hotel where I didn't enjoy the work. I wanted a job where I was able to make a difference to people’s lives by helping them keep their independence at home or just making someone smile. I've found this job so rewarding.

As a parent of four children, I value the flexibility my shift pattern gives me so I can also spend time with my family. The management team at Bluebird Care Northampton have been brilliant with matching my availability every week.

Before coming into the care sector, I took care of my partner after he had a serious motorbike accident and also my Nan who had cancer. I felt that with my life skills being a care assistant would be the best career for me.

In January 2016, I moved onto a boat and in March 2016 we had really bad flooding in Warwickshire area. I was unable to get my four children to school or myself to work. Knowing I has a duty of care to my customers, I phoned the office explained my situation and said "I will still attend my calls, if someone can pick me up". A member of staff from the management team was able to pick me up in a 4x4 but I had to walk across a field to get to the car. On our way back to the office, we nearly got stuck in the flood. Once we arrived back at the office, I put my work uniform on and attended my calls. When I finished my calls they took me home, we all worked together as a team. For my hard work and dedication I got employee of the month.

I'm so pleased to be part of the team at Bluebird Care Northampton, the management staff are very supportive and will assist you with any enquires you may have. I've just started my NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social care through the company and I'm looking forward to taking on new challenges and doing more courses to further my qualifications.
