Bluebird Care is one of the Leading domiciliary and live-in care companies based in the South. We support our customers to live independently within their own homes for longer, as an alternative to moving into residential care.

As the Care Coordinator, you will be in charge of allocating customer visits, taking into account their likes, wishes and preferences on things such as the time of the visit, their needs and location. You will balance these wishes and preferences with the availability and capabilities of our care staff, you will create seamless runs, ensuring that travel and mileage are kept to a minimum, so that our care staff aren't travelling back and forth during their shifts.

When absences arise, you will be first on hand to work your magic on covering the visits, as our customers will never go without a visit!

The role can often be likened to an ever moving puzzle, so you will need to be good at managing a number of tasks, while being able to stay cool and calm in stressful situations.

The Ideal Care Coordinator candidate will have the below skills:

  • Previous experience
  • Excellent communication skills- you will be talking to care staff, customers, family members and external professional bodies
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Assertiveness
  • The drive and ambition to grow the business
  • IT skills- we use a variety of technology- Axxess, Pass system, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Juggling multiple tasks seamlessly
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships with staff
  • Leading from the front- sometimes you might have to get stuck in and provide care.
  • Confidence in selling our services
  • Strong people management skills

The Care Coordinator role involves-

Allocating customer visits, taking into account a multitude of criteria

Talking on the phone to potential customers, so your ability to sell our services will be really important

Recording changes to the roster and absences and reporting these to the supervisors or manager

Covering sickness or other absences

Dealing with customer and care staff enquiries

Updating spreadsheets, for availability and changes to hours, so that we can keep a clear track of movements within the business

Taking part in the on-call service, on a rota basis. (Paid additional for weekend on-call duties)

What do we offer?

A competitive salary starting at £23795 per year (dependent upon experience and qualifications) for a full-time job from Monday to Friday (work hours from 8.30-5 pm and with one duty weekend coverage a month which can add up £1000 to this salary).
