Lead coordinator

The lead coordinator and their team of coordinators are responsible for the continuity of care for all of our customers. This vital role has a huge impact on the lives of many people who rely on our care and support. If you want to join a dynamic team making a positive difference to our customers’ lives, then this could be the role for you.

Customers tell us that what really matters to them is having a stable team of caring and professional care assistants whom they can rely upon. Working alongside the lead supervisor, you will be responsible for making this happen. The ability to problem solve and think clearly when under pressure is essential for this important role in our company. You will use your excellent planning, organisational and IT skills to make sure that each customer receives the care and support that they expect on time. This involves:

  • Allocating care assistants with the right skills and experience to deliver the best quality care and support to each customer
  • Organising care assistants’ rotas to minimise changes to the service and travel between customer’s homes
  • Responding efficiently to day to day changes in the care and support packages.

The lead coordinator will enjoy developing positive working relationships with customers, their families and the Bluebird Care team. You will provide a crucial link between each customer and their care assistant (s). You will often deal with queries from customers about their care and support. This requires a sensitive understanding of customer needs and a supportive telephone manner.

The lead coordinator must also be clear about the best way to work with care assistants’ schedules to maintain continuity in the delivery of care. You will need to build strong relationships with the care team so you can call upon extra cover when needed. In line with Bluebird Care policies you must be committed to anti-discriminatory practice and customer rights.

Care assistants may work over the weekend or evenings so the lead coordinator must be willing to be part of the on-call emergency team rota.

This role offers a great step into social care and the opportunity to be part of a strong
