The Role

As a Care Assistant, you’ll be the face of Bluebird Care. Every day is different — you’ll provide essential care and support while building genuine relationships with the people you support.

This can include sharing conversations, laughter, and meaningful moments, as well as offering comfort and reassurance when it’s needed most.

Starting your career with Bluebird Care

I support new staff from their very first interaction with us, guiding them through every stage of the journey. From interviews and onboarding checks such as DBS and references, to a comprehensive induction covering essential training—including manual handling, medication, dementia care, basic life support, safeguarding, catheter and stoma care, and workplace conduct—I ensure they feel confident and prepared. I introduce them to the wider team, helping them understand the roles within the company and how we work together to deliver high-quality care. I also make sure they are fully equipped for shadowing, providing uniforms, documentation, and a warm welcome, including a small gift to help them feel valued from day one. Throughout their shadowing experience, I stay in regular contact, offering guidance and reassurance. My aim is to create a supportive, structured, and positive onboarding experience that helps every new team member feel confident, capable, and part of the team from the start.
