Our customers should feel safe, comfortable and supported in their own homes, and we help them do exactly that. In this role, you’ll be providing waking night support to a customer with complex care needs, offering calm, professional and attentive care throughout the night.

Due to the nature of this role, this is a female-only position due to an occupational requirement.

Responsibilities
As a Waking Night Care Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing waking night support in the customer’s home
- Supporting with personal care, delivered with dignity and respect
- Monitoring comfort and wellbeing throughout the night
- Providing specialist care, including PEG feeds and suctioning when needed
- Supporting with repositioning and comfort, where required
- Responding calmly and appropriately to the customer’s needs
- Keeping clear records and communicating with the wider care team
- Being a dependable, friendly and reassuring presence throughout the night
This role will be overseen by our Registered Nurse, and full training will be provided so you feel confident and supported in the care you deliver.
Benefits
- Weekday waking night rate: £15.46 per hour
- Weekend waking night rate: £15.66 per hour
- 20 hours per week
- Shifts from 8.30pm to 8.00am
- Full induction and ongoing expert training
- Specialist care training, including PEG feeds and suctioning

- Regular support from the Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall team

Requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- A kind, compassionate attitude and a calm approach to care
- Confidence working waking nights
- Great communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- The ability to follow care plans and keep clear records
- A willingness to learn specialist care skills, including PEG feeds and suctioning
- A full UK driving licence
- Access to your own car
- The right to work in the UK
Previous complex care experience is welcome, but not essential — full training will be provided.
