Bluebird Care – Where you change lives

We’re looking for kind, calm and dedicated Children’s Support Workers to join our Care Expert Team across Mid & West Cornwall.

At Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall, we support children with complex needs to feel safe, understood and cared for — at home and out in their community. This support also gives families reassurance, consistency and peace of mind.

You’ll provide one-to-one support with daily routines, personal care, communication, confidence and community activities.

This is a meaningful role for someone who wants to make a real difference to children and families.

Before applying, please note:
You must have the right to work in the UK, a full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car.

We are unable to offer visa sponsorship. If you require sponsorship to work in the UK, your application will not be successful.

Responsibilities

As a Children’s Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with complex or additional needs
  • Helping with personal care, daily routines and mealtimes
  • Supporting communication, confidence and independence
  • Attending community outings and social activities
  • Following care plans and keeping clear records
  • Working closely with families and the wider care team
  • Being a calm, dependable and reassuring presence

Full training will be provided so you feel confident and supported in the care you deliver.

Hours

This role mainly involves evening and weekend support.

During school holidays and half terms, children are often at home more, so support hours may increase. We’ll always talk this through with you in advance and plan rotas around availability wherever possible.

Benefits

  • Paid specialist induction training
  • Ongoing expert training and development
  • Flexible working patterns, where possible
  • Regular support from a local office team who know you by name
  • Blue Light Card access to nationwide discounts
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Car hire assistance, if needed
  • Friendly, inclusive team with ongoing support
  • A meaningful role where you can make a real difference
  • A workplace where you’re valued, supported and never just a number

Requirements

For this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience working with children in care, education, health or support settings
  • Confidence supporting with personal care
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car
  • The right to work in the UK

You’ll be a good fit if you’re kind, patient and calm, with a child-focused approach and a willingness to learn.

Experience supporting children with complex or additional needs is helpful, but not essential — full training will be provided.

If you care deeply, Bluebird Care makes sure you have the training, time and support you need to do what you do best.
