Position: Lead Care Coordinator 

Location: Bromley (travelling to Sevenoaks & Lewisham when required)

Salary £30,000 p/a + KPI Bonus

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Care Coordinator to join our team in Bromley. Responsible for driving performance, supporting Coordinators, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality homecare services across our 3 offices in Bromley, Sevenoaks and Lewisham & Southwark, you will be primarily based at the Bromley office.

You will act as the central link between Registered Managers and the coordination team, combining strategic oversight with hands-on operational support to ensure services run efficiently, safely, and in line with Care Quality Commission standards.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Manage the workflow and performance of the coordinator(s); identify training needs, develop training plans and assist in the delivery of such training; provide guidance and hold supervision meetings where requested.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in coordination role
  • Assist in the long-term strategic planning of Care Assistants’ rounds to keep mileage/travel time low and Utilisation of Capacity high.
  • Submit weekly KPI reports; help Coordinators monitor and interpret KPI scores; scrutinise the data for improvements in areas of lowest scores; agree plans of action; nurture a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Keep Supervisors abreast of gaps in rounds in which to steer new business (if necessary, engineering such gaps to fit requirements where possible).
  • Liaise with Recruitment to make sure that pinch-points where capacity is limited are communicated accurately and effectively to support the recruitment of sufficient Care Assistants with the requisite availability to meet the ever-changing needs of the business.
  • Ensure Coordinators complete and distribute weekly Customer schedules and Care Assistant rosters by Thursday PM each week in respect of the week ahead.
  • Where requested, carry out investigations relating to the quality of the service; identify, evaluate and implement improvement actions.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation plan as required.
  • Keep all information about customers and their families secure and confidential. 
  • Carry out general office duties. Prepare reports as required as required by the RMs/Ops Manager/Franchise Director.
  • Work with the Bluebird Care team and other health and social care professionals to deliver high quality homecare services and to make improvements where necessary.
  • Work flexibly as part of the team and apply Bluebird Care policies and procedures at all times.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation plan as required.
  • Good understanding of the needs of people who need care and support

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills including computer literacy. Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience of the social care sector (preferably 1 year or more) and an excellent understanding of how to deliver safe and effective care to customers at home
  • A satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service formally known as the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)
  • Valid driving licence and current MOT
