Care Supervisor About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and professional Care Supervisor to join our team. This is a key leadership role focused on ensuring customers receive outstanding quality care and support, enabling them to remain safe and comfortable in their own homes. You will act as the link between customers, care assistants, and management, ensuring care is person-centred, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards. Purpose of the Role To ensure that customers receive excellent quality care and support that keeps them safe, respected, and independent in their own homes. Key Responsibilities You will support the Registered Manager and/or Lead Supervisor with: The efficient running of a designated area Supervising and supporting care assistants Ensuring safe, effective, high-quality care tailored to each customer’s needs and preferences Promoting dignity, privacy, choice, and independence at all times Participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota twice per week and 1 in 4 weekends Main Duties Working with Customers Carry out initial assessments and risk assessments before services commence Develop and maintain clear, personalised care and support plans Agree risk management measures to reduce identified risks Provide customers and representatives with clear information about the service Maintain confidentiality of all customer information Working with Staff Provide care assistants with clear guidance to deliver safe and effective care Work with the Care Coordinator to match care assistants appropriately Attend first visits to introduce care assistants Report schedule changes promptly Distribute, collect, and monitor MAR charts Support supervision, competency checks, and training Manage emergency on-call issues, including arranging cover when required Arrange and oversee live-in care changeovers when needed Quality & Compliance Monitor service quality and implement improvements Conduct spot checks and quality reviews in customers’ homes Ensure policies and procedures are followed Record, report, and act on accidents and incidents Ensure care delivery complies with regulatory requirements and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (England and Wales) Liaise effectively with families, health professionals, and internal teams Team Contribution Work flexibly to meet business needs Participate in training, appraisals, and development activities Support the office team when required What We’re Looking For Experience in care is essential (domiciliary care experience desirable) Supervisory or senior care experience preferred Level 3 QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care (or working towards) Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills Compassionate, confident, and proactive approach Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends if required A genuine passion for helping others Why Join Bluebird Care Pontypridd?
