Meet Pete. Our furry friend commutes between our Southampton and New Forest offices on a regular basis, armed with his dog bed and a look that melts hearts on a regular basis. He’s been with us ever since we opened in 2012, and is a very valued member of our team. Whether it be checking up on our projects or finding the comfiest corner of the office, Pete’s got his paw firmly on the pulse.
Since 2012, Bernadette and Hugo’s Bluebird Care franchises have been delivering home care to enable customers to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. Delivering the highest quality of home care and assistance is their absolute goal and the team would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking support, from short daily visits to 24-hr care, for themselves or for a loved one, or who would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.
Bernadette and Hugo Mills live in the New Forest with their 3 children and Pete the dog. Having previously worked in finance in London, the couple took the lifestyle decision to live and work locally. Once the children were old enough, Bernadette began to look for a business they could run which would give them family flexibility but also a bit of a challenge. They were also very aware of the growing local (and national) demand for care at home. Starting their first Bluebird Care franchise in the New Forest in 2012 certainly didn’t disappoint!
Driven by a passion to deliver high-quality care, they subsequently opened offices in Southampton (2015), Totton (2016), and, in 2017, took over the Portsmouth franchise too. Yet it is not their intention to build the biggest care business, but rather to deliver the best service on a local level through staff who genuinely care. A key focus is establishing a joint partnership between all the teams in order to provide outstanding daily home care and live-in care.
From a very young age, Becca found herself getting into care. At the age of 13 when she started working in a nursing care home helping out with housekeeping chores. She started working as a support worker for those with mental health problems and learning disabilities for the NHS. Eventually she worked with the Community Response team in the New Forest where she helped many elderly in the community.
Overall with 11 years care experience, Becca now manages our Totton branch. She is kind and caring and will guide you through the labyrinth of care possibilities. Becca's care qualifications are Health & Social Care, NVQ Level 2 and 3 and currently she is studying for the QCF Level 5 Leadership and management in Health care. Becca has recently passed her CQC Registration and is now a CQC Registered Manager!
Becca’s spare time is taken up by her dog Demi, her 6 rabbits and her horses.
Claire is our Care Coordinator here at Bluebird Care Totton! She has been with us since 2016 and has care experience from back in 2012.
Claire is in charge of assuring that our customers get the care they deserve which allows each customer to feel comfortable and safe within their own home. She is supportive, organised and positive - she always manages to sort even the most confusing situations!

Emma started her career in care in 2013 and she has been with Bluebird Care for 4 years. Emma started at Bluebird Care as a Care Assistant but has since moved up the ranks more recently to a Care Supervisor.
As Emma started as a Care Assistant herself, she knows the ins and outs of all Care Assistant related issues as well as customer issues - and can see from every point of view. Emma is responsible for guiding you through the process of tailoring your care wishes and needs and she works very closely with our Care Assistants to ensure you get the best care possible.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys crocheting, watching soaps and quality family time! She is a talented and hard working member of our Bluebird Family here in Totton and we are proud to have her!
Jeanette is our Care Supervisor, who started out in care as a Care Assistanrt 5 years ago, she then went on to become a Trainer for new Care Assistants. After her time as a trainer, Jeanette progressed to a Care Coordinator until she took on the role of being a field Care Supervisor. Our lovely lady has skills and information which stretches far and wide! In addition to her practical experience, Jeanette also has theoretical knowledge which she acquired from her NVQ level 2 and 3 certificates, and is optimistic about doing her NVQ level 5 in the near future. Jeanette is very pleased to be part of a team that works tirelessly to ensure that our customers are content.
I enjoy all aspects of my role I am very much a people person and enjoy the challenges that this role throws at me.
When she’s not at work, Jeanette enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music and of course shopping (after all who doesn’t?).
Sue is an extremely lovely person, who is a supportive and positive Team Leader here in Totton! Sue has been with us since 2018 and began her journey as a carer! Sue works hard to ensure everyone is treated fairly - both customer and carer, and that everyone is happy (within reason!). Sue is a genuine asset to the Totton team, and is an excellent leader.
