Are you looking for a better work life balance?
At Bluebird Care West Dorset we are now offering a new type of contract as well as our standard contract, to both new and existing care assistants. This runs on a 3-week cycle with ONE weekend on – TWO weekends’ off!
The contract is 32 hours a week but is significantly different to others in that it operates using a 3-week cycle, so you can have 2 weekends off. Instead of the standard 1 weekend on 1 weekend off.
How does it work?
We’ve split the working day into what we call ‘early’ and ‘late’ work periods, all of which are 6 hours each.
- The ‘early period’ runs from 8am – 2pm
- The ‘late period’ runs from 4pm – 10pm
To be eligible for this contract, you need to be available for a minimum of 16 six-hour work periods across the 3-week cycle.
Some key requirements:
- 4 of the 16 work periods must be on a working weekend
- Must include some late periods
- Must be available for the full 6-hour work period
- To ensure everyone has break following a working weekend, you cannot work the ‘early period’ on a Monday following a full working weekend
What’s in it for you?
- All Care & Support visits are paid at £10.50 an hour, seven days a week.
- Travel pay is paid for all journeys, including journeys from your home to your first customer and from your last customer to your home.
- Travel pay is also paid at £10.50 per hour.
- Mileage expenses between customers are paid at an additional 25p per mile.
- 1 weekend on, 2 weekends off!
- Bank Holidays are paid at £20.00 per hour.
