What are the benefits of working for Bluebird Care?

To ensure that our care assistants can provide top-quality service, we prioritise supporting them with competitive pay rates, ongoing support, training programs and opportunities for career advancement. We recognise that happy employees make for satisfied customers, and that's why we commit to providing exceptional working conditions for our teams.

For those with previous care experience, we offer new and exciting challenges that will help you to continue developing your knowledge. We understand that the health and social care industry is constantly evolving, and are dedicated to staying on the cutting-edge of best practices.

For those who are new to the health and social care industry, we offer comprehensive training and support that will help you to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills. From your first day on the job, you will have access to a supportive team of colleagues and mentors who will be there to guide you and answer any questions.

What are the main types of job roles at Bluebird Care?

Typically, much of our recruitment is focused on filling roles such as Care Assistant and Live-in Care Assistant positions.

However, we do have dedicated office teams, made up of registered care managers, care coordinators and care supervisors, as well as many 'behind-the-scenes' roles that keep the business ticking such as finance officers, marketing officers and the recruitment team. You can learn more about the specifics of each role here & how we support your career development  -

What ongoing training does Bluebird Care UK provide?

We offer full comprehensive paid pre-employment training before you start in your new role. The training is based at our central office in Totton and will consist of three classroom-based sessions scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Before attending the in-person training sessions, you will be required to complete e-learning modules that will provide you with a sneak peek of what you can expect from the pre-employment training.

Following these sessions, you will have a minimum of five shadow shifts with experienced care assistants out in the field, to help you gain practical experience and become comfortable with the tasks and responsibilities of your new job. If yourself or your supervisor feel you could benefit from more shadowing to get your confidence, this will be available to you.

Upon completion of your 3-month probation period, you will have the opportunity to study for your level 2/3 qualification in health and social care, which is fully funded for UK residents. If you are not a UK resident, there will be other training opportunities made available to you. This will not only enhance your knowledge and skills but also provide you with a pathway for career progression into more senior roles such as care champion, team leader, or even supervisor & coordinator positions.

What types of home care services does Bluebird Care offer?

Our home care service allows you to receive attentive care within the comfort of your own home, surrounded by the familiar presence of friends and family. Experience a stress-free, seamless transition without any disruptions or complications. Our dedicated team delivers a warm, traditional service with a genuine smile and unwavering commitment, providing you with a constant source of reassurance.

Care visits can be tailored to your needs, starting from 30 minutes and extending upwards depending on the type of support you require. Additionally, we offer live-in care services as an alternative to residential care facilities.

When you feel prepared, give us a call, and we will arrange a convenient time for us to visit you at home and discuss things further. You won't be subjected to any high-pressure sales tactics; instead, we'll engage in a simple conversation where you can enquire about our specific services. We'll discuss your needs and preferences in detail, providing professional guidance while always respecting your thoughts in the decision-making process.

During our visit, we will efficiently organize your care plan, detailing your specific needs for each visit, and will eagerly welcome you as a valued customer of Bluebird Care Portsmouth.
