Our career progression pathway is transparent. We actively support further education, advocating for our staff to undertake QCF Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, which will support advancement into more senior positions. Collaborating closely with our training partner, Paragon Skills, we provide access to a range of apprenticeship courses, ensuring our staff have opportunities for continuous development and growth.

Roles that are available for your career development - 

Care Champion - Alongside your role as a care assistant, as a care champion you will be prepared to support staff in your specific area in care, such as medication, mental health, dementia etc. You will also mentor & coach new members of the team, and observe the care practice of those who may need extra support. You will give clear feedback to your colleague's, so that they may improve and excel in their role. 

Team Leader - As a team leader, you will work both out in the field & also in the office. When out in the field, you will continue to support customers to enjoy the best possible quality of life, and also support your colleague's and give them feedback when necessary, to ensure they are providing high standard care. You will spend time with the office also, assisting them with the auditing of care notes and scheduling of induction/training of new starter's. 

Field Care Supervisor - You will be carrying out care plan review's to ensure that a customer's needs are being met by the care we are providing. You will also support new customer's, by attending their first visit and week review, ensuring they are settling into the routine. You will be capable of carrying out medication & task observations, as well as assisting with the training of new care assistant's, report changes to care schedules to the care coordinator. 

Care Supervisor - Care supervisor's are the first point of contact for customer enquiries, you will create individually tailored care plans for new customers. You will provide care assistant's will the appropriate guidance to effectively and safely provide a high standard of care, in line with the care plan. You will also take part in the out of hours emergency on-call rota, and be prepared tp go out into the field to cover care calls in time's of need. 

Care Coordinator - As a Care Coordinator, you will need to be highly organised and have excellent computer skills. Your daily tasks will include answering the telephone and dealing with customer and carer queries. Recording roster changes, record change of availability schedules with carers, record absence and manage it on the rosters, help cover care calls, and sickness and allocate work to carers to ensure continuity of work. Other duties include ordering stationery, and sundries, updating spreadsheets, auditing files, recording data for portals, stock-taking PPE etc. 

Live-In Care Coordinator - You may also progress into a coordinator role for our Live-in care side of the business. In this role, you will allocate live-in care packages to appropriate care assistant's and schedule when the package will start and end. You will assist the live-in care assistant's who may need support in the logistics of arranging travel to & from a package. You will organise handover's, where one care assistant will leave a package and a new will go in. You will also audit care assistant files to ensure we have all the documentation we need from our staff. 

Registered Care Manager - You will efficiently manage the day-to-day running of the business, by providing strong leadership so that staff are clear about their respective duties and have the support to carry out their roles safely. You will overview our care planning and rostering systems to ensure a compliant business, and focus on driving the domiciliary care business, alongside the live-in care proposition. You will train new recruits and participate in the out of hours on-call rota. 

 

There are also opportunities to get involved in the 'behind the scenes' of the business, we have an in-house recruitment & marketing team, where you could build upon your skills in business admin & HR, and support us to ensure we are recruiting the right people to support our customers. Alternatively, if you enjoy maths & numbers, you may be the perfect fit for our finance team, where you could build your knowledge as an accounts assistant. 

Apprenticeships - In the past, we have offered apprenticeships for roles such as Business Administrators, based in our offices. This gives people the opportunity to learn the nature of business in a fast paced envrionment, and study for their qualifications alongside getting that invaluable work experience. We are paired with Paragon Skills as the training provider who have various courses that our staff have enrolled on in the past. Recruitment Officer - You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth recruitment process for new recruits, posting job advert's, carrying out interviews, chasing up paperwork such as references, submitting DBS application and booking new starter's onto the pre-employment training course. You will attend recruitment events to boost Bluebird Care's profile and make more people in the local communities aware of who we are, and what job opportunities we can offer. 

Marketing Officer - The digital media & marketing officer has a key influence on how the public view our brand. You will work closely with our director's, drafting marketing plans, attending recruitment & marketing events, writing PR pieces and identifying advertising opportunties. A marketing officer is a key point of communication with external/internal stakeholders and so great organisational and planning ability is a must. 

Payroll/Finance Officer - Working in the payroll and finance department, you will oversea the payroll management of the five branches, ensuring up to date HMRC returns and payroll/pension data. You will take invoice payments over the phone when required and handle absence, paternity/maternity allowances etc. You will need to be extremely organised for this role.
