Alexander is a retired Infantry Officer of the British Army where he served tours in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. Having left the army, he completed a Masters’ business degree and worked in London for a national energy company. Alexander has spent a lot of his spare time fundraising and organising events to raise money and awareness for the ‘British Limbless Ex Service Men’s Association’, BLESMA.
Alexander enjoys surfing on Bantham Beach and is an avid photographer and is also occasionally seen accompanying Emma on his 1965 BSA Bantam ‘Tom’ when the mood takes his bike.
Emma has a degree in Botany, a diploma in Business and a Master’s Degree in Business and the Environment and has many years’ experience in management roles and providing high quality service to demanding clients. Emma is passionate about providing the highest level of service to each customer and firmly believes in the importance of local working.
In her spare time Emma likes to take her 1955 BSA Bantam D1 ‘Peggy’ out on the road to explore the countryside. She loves walks on the beach and occasionally braves a surf although will more often than not be seen in the white wash close to the shore.
Pauline has worked in the social care field for over 30 years and has had management roles for the
past fifteen years. She has a degree in social policy and administration and the registered managers award.
Pauline has a specialism is dementia care and has spent seven years as Support Services Manager for
the Alzheimer’s Society, having also worked in the domiciliary and residential care sectors. She is
thrilled to be joining Bluebird Care and is determined to maintain our outstanding status with CQC
and our local community.
In her spare time she enjoys walking with her lovely dog Bow. She is a creative person and loves
anything arty – She paints, sews and knits to various degrees of success!
Carol Joined the team as a Locality Manager in Feb 2018, having spent the previous ten years managing a multi-site operation delivering a service to the elderly across Devon.
In Nov 2018, the Live-in Care Manager position became available and Carol was excited to step into this role and begin developing the service.
As the Live-in Care Manager, it is Carol’s responsibility to deliver support packages that enable her customers to live safely & independently in their own homes for as long as possible. She communicates with her customers, family members and health professionals daily, she leads by providing support & guidance to a team of dedicated carers who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of the people in our community.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family & friends, and taking long walks on the beach with her husband and dog Reggie.
After gaining a degree in Business Studies and taking an accountancy conversion course at the University of the West of England, Sophie worked for nearly ten years in audit and tax roles before branching out to industry. Previous to joining Bluebird Care in June 2019, Sophie worked for fourteen years in Further Education. Besides ensuring that the finance function of Bluebird Care runs smoothly, Sophie works closely with the franchise’s owners and operational managers to support their business planning and work together on the continuing success of the business.
Sophie loves to walk her dogs on the beach and through the woods.
Sarah deals with everything to do with payroll and holiday. She makes sure that everyone gets paid on time and is given those lovely days off for their holidays. She is a key member of the finance team and deals with any queries that come through the door.
In her spare time Sarah spends time with her family and friends.
Emma is responsible for invoicing our customers. She assists customers and their family through any payment difficulties. Emma has a ten year background in accounts and admin and has worker for Bluebird since June of 2018.
In her spare time Emma loves spending time with her family. Emma also sings at events which her colleagues love to attend.
Ellie’s responsibility is the roster. The roster is the beating heart of our service and Ellie has to weigh up the needs of our customers and the needs of our staff to ensure customers see as few faces and that staff know our customers intimately. If a staff member knows a customer intimately and sees them day in, day out the relationship is effortless. Ellie has been with us since 2015 and originally started in the office as an apprentice.
In her spare time Ellie loves listening to music and is a McFly super fan.
Jenny comes from a background of working with Adults with learning disabilities. She has been a team leader on a project to relocate children with learning disabilities, back into the community. Prior to that, Jenny has experience with Children with Emotional and behavioural issues in a school environment, liaising with medical professionals to creating a safe environment for the children to focus on and benefit from. Jenny has an NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and Social care for Children and young people. Jenny is currently a locality manager, she ensures customer’s needs are assessed and her care workers are looked after.
In her spare time Jenny loves craft, upcycing furniture, making jewellery, interior design, beach and north coast of Cornwall and travelling to Spain as much as possible to visit family.
Dawn has worked in the Care Industry since 2006. She has predominantly worked within domiciliary care and the fact that she has worked as a carer, and graduated to more of an office based role, gives her an empathetic view throughout. Dawn is currently finishing her NVQ level 4 and plans to start her NVQ level 5.
In her spare time, you will find Dawn across the South West, at cat shows, where she will be gaining Championship titles for her privileged felines.
Linda joined the team as a Locality Manager in June 2018. Previously having worked in a nursing home running a dementia unit and extensive experience in multi home care for the differently abled, Bluebird Care were looking to expand the service into the Kingsbridge area of Devon.
Linda’s main responsibility is to deliver care on a daily basis to enable our customers to live independently and safely in their own homes for as long as possible.
She liaises with customers, family members and professional bodies as well as ensuring her team of skilled and dedicated carers, are guided and supported to provide outstanding care.
In her spare time Linda loves walking her dog in the countryside. She also enjoys theatre, musicals and fly fishing.
Lesley is responsible for delivering all of the training days, from Induction to refresher courses, all the way through to First Aid training. Les was the second employee when Bluebird Care kicked off in 2012; she's been a Field Supervisor and acting Manager during her time with the company, so she's very wise to the many roles and their requirements within the business.
Lesley thoroughly enjoys teaching the various technical, practical and emotional elements of becoming a Care Worker; and our staff are a testimonial of her professionalism & dedication to the business, as well as her knowledge of the industry.
In her spare time Les loves spending time with her two crazy dogs and grandkids
Natalie is responsible for the recruitment and retention of our quality care team. Without dedicated carers, we would not be able to continue to deliver the outstanding service we are known for. Natalie works closely with our coordinator to meet our staffing requirements and the needs of the business. She also ensures that all our employees are nurtured throughout the probation period. Recently qualified with a CIPD Level 3 in Human Resources, with the interest in pursuing the Level 5 in the near future, Natalie comes from a HR background and is passionate about the well being of our carers and the impact a happy work force can have on the company; smiles from our carers makes smiles for our customers.
In her spare time Natalie enjoys nature walks around Devon with her Heinz 57.
Jason started as a care assistant with Bluebird Care Winchester back in December of 2016. He was then part of the Bluebird care JET service offering a solution to bed blocking for hospitals in and around Hampshire. Here he achieved his level 2 NVQ in health and social care. After moving down to Devon, Jason became a Field Supervisor in October of 2018 at Bluebird care in Plymouth. In his current role, he is responsible for the quality assurance of care workers, and assisting with the general running of the office.
In his spare time, Jason loves working on his sports car, he is also a keen figure skater.
Marissa became a field supervisor in February 2019. Her role in the company is to provide contingency care cover when required, to monitor and mentor care workers in the field, and to support the functioning of the office. Marissa is also responsible for the ‘Customer Sparkle’.
In her spare time, Marissa likes to spend time with her two Granddaughters. She also likes diamond painting.

Chrystal started working for Bluebird care Plymouth in May 2017 as care worker. She had previously worked for Bluebird care in Taunton but had moved to Plymouth. After 7 months she was promoted to Field supervisor where she has stayed for two years. She has completed her NVQ level 3 in health and social care. Her responsibilities are to assure quality of the care workers and to assist with the general running of the office.
In her spare time Chrystal loves to spend her free time with family and being the crazy auntie.
