Meet the team

Bluebird Care Taunton Deane, Mid Devon, Sedgemoor, North and West Somerset is owned and managed by Director, Mark Oswald.  Before starting Bluebird Care Taunton, Mark worked in recruitment for 12 years, 9 of which were in the Social Care sector.

He has managed branches across the South West of England & Wales and overseen Local Authority, Voluntary and Private Organisation staff supply contracts.

During that time Mark has not only supplied staff to care organisations but has provided care in a variety of settings himself. Having seen services of varying degrees of quality he is passionate about supplying Bluebird Care’s customers with a high level of care.

Mark is a keen sportsman, rowing Pilot Gigs across South West England. He also sails, cycles, hikes and mountaineers when he’s not playing with his two young children.

Ben Sellick has worked with Bluebird care since November 2014 having joined the team as a supervisor for the Wellington area, which is also his home town. Since then he has developed in to the Area Care Manger role.
Ben Joined Bluebird care with 10 years of experience in care home settings  in various roles ranging from care worker to team leader in both Somerset and Manchester.
Additionally Ben is an active member of the local community and his local Church, and takes his passionate attitude into all situations in both work and home life
At home Ben spends most of his time managing the tantrums of his 2 year old daughter, but when he does get time to himself he enjoys watching most sports and recently started playing Squash.
When living in Salford Ben took part in a charity Boxing match and then went on to assist with training the children of Salford Lads club. Since returning to Somerset he is involved with a local children’s club and leads them in many fun activities, he also enjoys Public speaking.

My name is Jacqueline Cubitt or Jackie as I like to be known and have lived in somerset since September 2018 after moving from London to be closer to family. 

 I started working for Bluebird care in January 2019 as a Carer for the West Somerset team. In October 2019 the opportunity arose for the position of care co-ordinator for West Somerset and Sedgemoor. 

 In my role I co-ordinate staff for both areas creating rosters for their calls to our customers.  I also answer the phones to customers and carers answering queries and resolving any issues that may arise no two days are ever the same at Bluebird though.

I previously worked for Carphone warehouse in their head office as a Finance administrator where I worked for 24 years. Previous to that I was a live in Nanny. Upon my move to Somerset I decided to go back to the caring profession as I wanted to do something to help others...why not be a carer I said and so here I am.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my Dog Tasia and Husband Richard enjoying our new life in Somerset yes, the Quantocks do remind me of Kos at times that's our own little bit of Greece right on my doorstep.  I also like to holiday in Kos Greece where my parents reside and try to get there at least once a year.  Although I do find time to potter around in the garden when not busy creating flowerpot men.... yes I am slightly Potty at times.
