Anita's Story

My name is Anita. I started working for Bluebird Care Liverpool in October 2015. Care is something that I’d always wanted to do but couldn't quite find the route to get into my chosen field. I’d previously looked after a private client but that was more for companionship. I’d never cared for anyone in a professional capacity previously. My employment background had always been in administrative based roles. I was always looking for something more rewarding and that's when I came across Bluebird Care Liverpool. I applied for the position despite having no specific experience. They took me under their wing, so to speak, and gave me amazing training and the tools to go out and look after people to the best of my ability. Becoming a care assistant is the best decision I’ve ever made. There is a huge amount of satisfaction knowing that what I do in my job helps others to stay confident and safe in their own home instead of going into residential care. When you become a care assistant you realise that it's not just a job – it’s a vocation, a way of life. You want to be there for people to help them and getting paid for what you love to do is just a bonus.

Anita has been a breath of fresh air. Although experience is an advantage, we recruit based on personality and passion for care. Anita has these in abundance and has quickly grown in confidence, becoming a strong and popular member of the team. She’s the kind of ‘go to’ person who we know will always help out when she can. It is noticeable early on that she would think about the little things she could do to make her visit that bit more productive and positive for the customer. We really appreciate her for that kind of effort.
