Meet our team of care professionals

Harriet Weaver
Registered Care Manager - Bluebird Care (Lewes District, Brighton & Hove)

Harriet has over 8 years of experience working in the Care sector; formally as part of the NHS. Harriet has been part of the Bluebird Care team for a little over three years and has worked her way up from Support Supervisor, to Supervisor, Co-ordinator to Care Manager. Harriet is qualified to NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care. 
 
She is responsible for the efficient running of the business and managing the operations team and care workers in the Brighton & Hove and Lewes District Office (based in Hove and Newhaven), as well as looking after our customers. Responsible for compliance, recruitment and retention and the safe running of the service, Harriet reports to directly to Gary and Michelle Johnson who collectively make up the senior management team.

SJ Paradot
Deputy Care Manager / Live-in Care Manager

SJ started with Bluebird Care (Brighton & Hove) a carer in February 2016. SJ was new to the care industry and quickly found that there was a lot to learn in order to provide the standard of care which is required of a regulated care provider. SJ holds NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care. She is currently working towards a Level 3 Award.
 
Due to hard work, commitment and a passion SJ was awarded the role of Supervisor. She was subsequently promote to Live-in Care Manager in 2018 and to Deputy Manager for the whole business in 2020.
 
SJ says;

Jack Ottaway
Area Supervisor

Jack started his care career with Bluebird Care almost 4 years ago. Prior to Bluebird Care he worked for his family’s metal business. Jack started in the field as  a carer.
 
Jack’s flare, focus and commitment have seen him progress from the role of carer to Support Supervisor and more recently to Supervisor and Care Co-ordinator and now Deputy Manager with a lead on co-ordination across both offices. He is qualified to Level 3 Health & Social Care and is currently working towards a Level 5 qualification.
 
Jack states;

Since being with Bluebird Care I cannot think of another career path I would want to go down. I get to meet some amazing people and help them to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.

Tracy Wood
Area Supervisor

Tracy has a wealth of experience working in the domiciliary care sector. Qualified to L3 in Health & Social Care, a qualified trainer, she previously worked in a role as Care Manager overseeing our Brighton & Lewes District Office. She has now joined the Brighton team in her role as Supervisor and is looking after a number of customers in and round Brighton & Hove and is Supervisor to the care workers teams which support them.
 
Tracy feels;

Providing excellent quality care to our customers is very important to me, I am proud to be part of a great supportive team at Bluebird Care who all share the same passion and values which enables our customers to achieve their desired outcomes.

Louise Trafford
Live-In Care Supervisor

Louise Trafford has been with Bluebird Care (Lewes District, Brighton & Hove) since 2016 and is a key member of both teams; working across both areas covered by the Brighton & Hove and Lewes District offices. Louise supports both offices with on-call duties, medication competencies and office support. Like Geoff she is qualified to train in moving and handling of people and medication administration.

Karen Waddington
Registered General Nurse, Training Officer

Karen joins us as Training Officer responsible for both offices; Hove and Newhaven. She is responsible for the training of all new care assistants and the on-going continued professional development of the wider existing teams and carers. As a registered nurse, Karen’s knowledge and experience is invaluable in guiding new and indeed more experienced employees to fulfil their potential in the care sector as well as making sure their skills are current.
