During her career as a Registered Manager she developed a passion to provide compassionate care to the elderly and vulnerable in our society. She values the contribution made to our society by the elder generation and strives to deliver a care practise that rewards their dedication and supports their independence, wellbeing and their desire to remain at home as long as possible. Her experience and expertise in Clinical Governance stood her in good stead through 3 regulatory inspections.

In her role as Clinical Director of Bluebird Care Ferndown, Selvie oversees the clinical governance and standards of care provided in the community. She works closely with the care management team to ensure that we meet the highest standard of care.

Selvie is also a qualified trainer and delivers training to Bluebird Care staff in clinical areas such as Epilepsy, diabetes to name a few to ensure that our staff are able to provide care to a broad spectrum of customers.

One of the key skills she trains the staff on is Basic Life Support, as well as volunteering her services as a Basic Life Support Trainer to local charities and adult support groups.

Richard Smith
Registered Manager

Richard has had a varied career, spanning the telecom and health care industries. In his most recent roles, Richard ran a large nursing home in the New Forest as well as managing a busy home care business in Poole. Richard first started in care working in Dementia Services with Age Concern Hampshire. Richard has a real passion for supporting people living at home after supporting his grandfather in law who had a massive brain injury which left him needing continuous support at home. It was during this time where he realised how important great quality home care was.

Prior to care Richard has had a breadth of experience running charities as well holding senior manager positions in various telecoms companies. Richard is known to enjoy a challenge and even spent a few years running a Jazz Bar in Keynsham near Bristol.

When Richard is not at work, he can be found either swimming or sailing, having participated in ocean yacht races as well as more leisurely cruises around the Greek Islands. Richard has two children who go to school locally who often try to accompany him sailing. Richard’s home is a haven for cats as his partner is a research vet who specialises in arthritis in cats (and humans) and they currently have a Greek street cat and Ringwood street cat living with them.

Nina Kiff
Live-in Services Manager

Nina has been working in the care sector for almost 12 years. She has worked in a variety of sectors including children’s disabilities, domiciliary and care home settings. Nina began her career in the care industry out of a love of looking after people, she has worked with younger people but has found her knowledge and skills to be best suited to working with elderly people within the community.

Nina has continued to develop her knowledge and skills over her 12 years in the industry and is currently working towards completing her level 5 in health and social care.

When Nina is not at work she can be found spending time with her partner and father who she also cares for outside of work. She has a keen interest in motor sports and enjoys attending events such as F1 racing, the Goodwood festival of speed and track days. Nina lives locally to Ferndown, in a home that she has recently brought with her partner and is currently enjoying weekends renovating it.
