Care Assistant Profile - Alex Brookes

What's the best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job is that I can give something positive to customers that needs my help every day, it's really rewarding. Making people feel good about themselves makes my day!

What can be the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging thing about my job is the driving around making sure you’re on time for all your customers as I know they need me at certain times of the day.

What are your career aspirations?

I definitely want to get as many qualifications as I can, it’s great that I can get NVQs funded through my job. I would love to think about management in the future and working for the NHS is one of my life goals too. Before I would consider this, I want to do all my qualifications to get myself as qualified as I possibly can.

How does being a Care Assistant fit in with your life style?

Being a care assistant fits in brilliantly with my life-style, you can choose your hours to fit around what you want. Working every other weekend is amazing I've never had a job that allows that. Working in retail was hard work, I had to work every weekend which wasn't good for my life style at all. Being a care assistant is great as this allows you to have that break every other weekend, also you can choose your day off in the week which is also amazing. I never thought I could find a job that is so easy going; the team are all great! The work load is fantastic I would recommend it to anyone that is interested in becoming a care assistant.
