Staff testimonials

Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden is the only Home Care Company to work for in Eastbourne. I have been utterly impressed with the Registered Care Manager Valerie Holland who is so dedicated to her job in terms of the care provided for loved ones and for her staff. I have never seen this level of dedication in all my working life. As a newer member of staff, the training has been exceptional and unlike almost any home care agency I researched in the area prior to being offered the job; Bluebird Care pay you a decent contribution to your mileage and you are also paid whilst travelling between clients. The majority of the Home care providers do not pay travelling time in between calls. Also I came across home care agencies in the area that were advertising very attractive rates of pay... Only to be told when I called them that that level of pay was only for working on bank holidays and in reality I would be paid a basic wage. My training is paid, I earn a good rate of pay, I am paid more than adequately for mileage and I am paid in between calls. One thing I didn't realise is that bluebird Care provide everything from home calls to live in Care and so there can be a seamless process with the clients needing very little support in the early days to increasing support as and when needed; all the way to live in care if needed. Therefore there is no need for dealing with different companies and agencies as the clients' needs become greater. I would not hesitate to use them for my own parents as and when the need arises. It was also refreshing to know that many of people in the team had never worked in the Home Care Industry before and neither had I. I was made to feel welcome and appreciated in my role. The majority of the team have worked there for years which tells you something and they love their jobs! So whether you are looking for a new job or looking for someone to provide care for your loved ones you are in the right place.
Having spent over 30 years working with horses, the time came to change career as my body wasn’t coping very well with the physical demands of equestrian life. I saw the Bluebird Care advert on an on-line job site, straight away I thought it sounded a positive, rewarding option for a career. And I was not wrong, as soon as I started my training I could feel how positive and dedicated the office staff are to providing care, not just to the customers but to their care workers too. Expertly guided by Val and Helen I soon felt as if I could do this job. During my training I met several of Bluebird’s Carers and it struck me straight away that we have all been chosen well as the caring streak runs quite obviously through every single one. Each carer has a happy sunny outlook to life. As I was new to care work, I was encouraged to shadow another carer for my first week, longer if I felt I needed to. I soon felt confident enough to venture out on my own, though you are never totally alone as there is always someone on the end of the phone to help with any worries I may have.
I’m proud to be part of such a professional company as Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden. I was apprehensive about returning to work after having my daughter, but Valerie and her team were very supportive about helping me start my new career in care. It’s inspiring to work with people who genuinely care about their staff and customers.
I joined Bluebird Care Eastbourne earlier this month after being with another care company in West Sussex for the last 5 years and what a good decision I made. From the word go they have been so supportive, helpful, friendly and welcoming towards me. Being new to the area this has been paramount to my progress. I have received great standard training, started new qualifications and already learnt so much. The staff in the office are fantastic, any questions I have had have been answered straight away. All the carers are lovely and great to work with, all have lovely caring natures, you can tell they all love their job. The customers are all lovely and feel so well looked-after by all at Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden. I am looking forward to my future progressing with Bluebird Care, with everyone’s care and support.
Receiving Support while Pregnant Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden have taken care of me from the very beginning of my pregnancy. They have conducted regular risk assessments ensuring that the safety of both myself and my baby are never compromised through my work. They have emotionally supported me through my many hormonal mood swings. Bluebird Care have enabled me to work throughout my pregnancy without feeling any kind of pressure or uncertainty about my future, if anything I have never felt more secure and supported in my role as a care worker. We have worked together as my body and stamina have changed, I always feel in control and never feel unsafe in my work. Being heavily pregnant in this industry is more than achievable due to the variety of care that we provide, and the flexibility of the job. I know that If I was to feel uncomfortable with particular tasks as my body changes that the management team are there to support me and more than happy to move things around. I feel excited to start my new role as a mother, but I will miss my work and my bluebird family whilst away. I have been very lucky and fortunate to be apart of such a warm, caring, professional and friendly team and can not wait to continue my career within Bluebird Care. Biggest thank you and kisses from myself and bump for all you have done for us.
I have come to Bluebird Care from working in a children’s nursery for the last 5 years. After the death of my grandad to Alzheimer’s. I wanted to go into adult care. My training has been extremely informative and I cant wait to get out into the community to meet all the Bluebird Care customers.
I have worked at Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden for over 6 years. I started as a domestic care worker, and after a couple of years with further training and support from my manager and supervisors I started to do personal care. I love my job and all the customers, it’s very rewarding. Bluebird Care are an excellent company to work for, we are trained to a very high standard, and in my view they are the best.
Having thought about care work for many years but being to afraid to go for it, it is now at the age of 29 that I decided to take the plunge. After one week's training with Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden my concerns have already gone and I know this is what I want to do. The training is thorough, supportive and first class. I have a whole new appreciation and respect for what a care worker does every single day. I cannot wait to get out there and raise the flag as a Bluebird Care assistant.
Welcomed into the Bluebird Care team end of March 2017 with no previous professional care qualifications or experience, the ongoing training and support I have received since day one is meritorious. From internal training with our admirable ladies in the office, on the job training with valued team members to external training courses, my personal development and experience continues to flourish. No two days are the same with flexible working hours and varied atmosphere means ‘work’ doesn’t feel like ‘work’. Bespoke tailored packages combined with positive communication and tenacious relationships with customers and coworkers alike reciprocate compliments which in itself are a catalyst to sustain the platinum level of care. Each day builds job satisfaction and the whole experience is highly rewarding. It is an absolute pleasure working with the Bluebird Care team and with opportunities to progress I would endeavour anyone to join our dynamic team. In the same breath I would endorse anyone seeking care for themselves or a family member to benefit from the amiable service Bluebird Care offers.
If you’re looking for a rewarding, flexible varied caring role, this is for you. I feel personally that I can make a real difference to somebody’s day. Working for Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden, I can honestly say is a privilege. The role is very varied and interesting, as our customers are all individual and require a variety of support and care. Working for Bluebird Care has also given me the opportunity to enhance my career further with the assisted study of working towards certain qualifications, such as level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care. The role also offers a flexible approach allowing my working hours to be fitted around my home life. Bluebird Care support me fully in every way, thus allowing me to deliver the very best care and support to the customers. Working for Bluebird Care has given me the chance to care for some wonderful people I otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to ever meet. In this modern world of closed doors, it’s so rewarding to get to know the people behind those doors and to build a mutually respected rapport.
I love my job! Purely because it has so much variety, every day is different...I enjoy meeting new people. I have great relationships with all of my customers, I enjoy being a part of their lives and love seeing and making them feel happy...they do the same for me! Just being there for them when they need me and they are safe in the knowledge that they can trust me, it makes my job feel extremely rewarding and very worthwhile. I can do all of this whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism and having a great management team that not only support me, but guide me and help me to learn new skills. I can't see myself ever changing career!
