Shabir Hussain
Owner

Bluebird Care Bradford South is led by Shabir Hussain. Shabir started delivering homecare in Bradford to help support customers in the area to receive homecare and support while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Delivering the highest quality of homecare and support is Shabir’s absolute goal and the team would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking homecare for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.

Making a contribution in the local community has been my personal aim both in paid employment and as a volunteer.

Before Bluebird Care I worked for a housing charity for over 16 years. Giving a house to a family living in unsuitable housing/ bed and breakfast is hugely satisfying. The impact it has on the whole family is immeasurable and impossible to describe - especially the difference it makes to children's lives.

Just as with the housing charity; the care Bluebird Care provides has a huge impact on our customers' lives. Bluebird Care provides care that I would want for my own mother, father or family members.

Bluebird Care employs colleagues who are passionate about providing care. We empower them through good training and by giving them freedom to make decisions.

Bluebird Care customers maintain their independence because they have complete control of the care they receive.

Outside of Bluebird Care I do voluntary work for:

  • Rotary – as a member I help to fundraise for local good causes as well as helping at local events.

  • Venture Housing Association – housing associations make a huge difference in their local communities. I am a Board Member and Chair of Corporate Services Committee.

  • Halifax Opportunities Trust – this is local redevelopment agency. It provides support to local businesses, delivers employment initiatives as well as training designed to increase people’s skills and confidence to find employment. I am a Trustee of the charity.

Diane Holdsworth
Care Manager

Diane has over 30 years experience of providing care in Calderdale. When she isn’t working she loves playing Bingo, walking in the country, socialising, and spending quality time with her family.

Holidays abroad usually take in visits to ruins, which are of special interest to Diane.

Gail McDonald
Field Care Supervisor

I am the Assistant Manager at Bluebird Care (Bradford). I have worked in the care industry for over 30 years in many different areas such as challenging behaviour, dementia, and end of life care.

I also spent 3 years working in a Doctors Surgery within the District Nurses Team. I have been involved with various charity work including taking part in a fire walk for Macmillan Support. I began working for Bluebird Care over 7 years ago where I started out as a care worker.

I then later progressed to a team leader where I carried out observations and supervisions on carers. Two years later, I became Care Coordinator where I dealt with the daily rotas, provided On-Call Support and worked alongside Doctors, Social workers and families to ensure our Customers were happy with their care. I am now the Assistant Manager at Bluebird Care Bradford and look forward to continuing to deliver quality care to all our customers.
