Lyn-Marie started at Bluebird Care Bedford in November 2013, not long after we opened for business.
Lyn-Marie was a stay at home mum before coming to work at Bluebird Care and hadn’t had any experience within the adult social care sector. In her own words ‘I fell into adult social care by accident’. She came along to one of our recruitment open days and had an interview with Karen, managing director and she was offered the job on the spot! She started as a care assistant and loved it.
I have found working with adults to be a lot more rewarding than I thought it would be.
Lyn-Marie proved to be a dedicated and conscientious member of the team and really excelled as a care assistant.
After about 9 months with Bluebird Care Bedford Lyn-Marie was promoted to field supervisor and began to take on some extra responsibilities, including spot checking staff, mentoring new members of the team and going to meet new customers.
Then in early 2015 she was promoted to deputy care manager and she began to take on a lot more responsibility within the office team. Our registered manager at the time, was due to go on maternity leave in May 2015 so Lyn-Marie was trained to cover the registered managers’ duties whilst she was on leave.
In February 2016 the registered manager left Bluebird Care Bedford and Lyn-Marie was, promoted to care manager.
Throughout her time with Bluebird Care Bedford she has completed numerous training courses and gained a multitude of qualifications including her QCF level 5 in Health & Social Care Leadership & Management.
She was officially registered with CQC as Bluebird Care Bedford’s registered manager in the summer of 2016.
Lyn-Marie demonstrated dedication and passion for providing the very best care to customers and support to our staff over the last few years, her hard work and loyalty has been rewarded. Reflecting on her last few years at Bluebird Care Bedford she says ‘how lucky I have been, to have had this opportunity.’
